Description

Prologue (Skip it please)::

My job takes me to different countries, I already have work laptop. I wanted to build a PC, that is easy to carry yet powerful within budget.

If you like videos then head over to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm7tuLkYD4U

Main Purpose::

To run latest version (2016) of MATLAB, Solidworks , Photoshop and Adobe Premiere. Home Entertainment (Media)

Why I chose below parts:: (In order of Priority) CPU:: Intel Core i5-6600 I don't need hyper threading and unlocked "K" processor, because I'm not interested in Overclocking/ Ghz Boost, hence i5-6600 is sensible choice to me. (personal preference)

Mother Board (MoBo):: MSI H170i Pro AC

I need a on-board Wi-Fi & BT support. M2 support was additional benefit. Cons: Cut-outs in Back plate is not aligning properly with MoBo In this part of world MSI is affordable and has good after sales support.

CPU Case:: Silverstone Raven RVZ02B

Initially I was fixed on Node 202 from Fractal design,(exorbitant prices was asked for Node 202) I was in pursuit of something similar but cheaper. Silverstone Raven RVZ02B was heart stopper. Due to Slim sleek design and can support up to 13" Graphics card.

CPU cooler:

I wanted Low Profile cooler compatible with case, Obvious choice was Silverstone Argon AR06 fits Pros: with in dimension limits of CPU case, Silent Operation Cons: bit expensive.

PSU::

Silverstone SFX-500 LG was compatible with case and could easily support graphics card and slim optical drive (planned to install). Fan replacement to silent one is a must. Pros: SFX Form factor, Silent operation mode (under low load) Cons: The worst part is Fan Noise. Its very annoying

Part Reviews

Power Supply

If you work in a quiet environment. weird fan noise from PSU fan is very disturbing. kind of worn out fan bearings noise....

Nice build! I'm drooling over the compact-ness of the ML08/RVZ02.

This is my potential build, I'm wondering if I'm gonna encounter any problems with cooling? Will maybe add a GPU later down the line while I just use the iGPU.

Also, are there any filters for the vents? Any mounts for case fans?

Yes .... Buy a Silverstone Artic AR06 Cooler. Its a absolute GEM... Fits perfectly in the case. But Cable Management is a pain in Silverstone case ... because of thick 3.0 USB Cables. Regarding Graphics Card - since your build seems to Budget build, please save money for AMD RX480, which will provide you headroom for adding devices later incase you need.

At this point of time I assume you would have completed your build. I hope you did not find any issues. But to guide you, I suggest to go with silver stone AR-06 cooler. Because it was one of the best low profile CPU air cooler tested by Linus tech tips. I hope this helped you
