Description

I know the parts make absolutely no sense. I didn't get to choose them. Client tower for like workstation tasks while also doubling as a NAS/File Repository for their household.

You should have done a better job explaining to your client why these are terrible choices.

My only question is why they chose a non "K" cpu, but went with a Z97 mobo instead of an H97 to save a few bucks. Besides that I think this build is pretty normal for what it will be used for.

No problem, OP means original poster. In this case HarleysvilleComputer is the OP.

Why Z97 with locked processor that is watercooled? Is there a plan to upgrade that? I know it's a NAS but seems pointless

YEA. People not only use their PCs for gaming, also for surfing the internet, using Netflix and Word Office. That's an important advantage of PCs that consoles doesn't have.

Ya dont need a GPU for everything

Yeah I know, I don't know why so many people have this misconception that every computers has to be a gaming PC.

LOL it's just because gaming/video editing+content design makes up like 75% of what people are using there computers for (at least on here), on PCPP it's such a mainstream thing to have a GPU because that is what most people are doing with there PCs.

And the reality is that only probably 1% of PCs in the world are used for that stuff.

Heck, I don't see why people always get water cooling closed loops when air coolers can beat them and it's unnecessary in most cases I see them.

I have a 10-15 degree difference between my new water loop and old air cooler.

What is the price difference between those two?

Yep, that's the big attraction. It just sounds soooo cool.
