Description

Bit of a strange build.

I don't know why it has taken over a year to create this post but oh well!

This is my first PC build, after I started researching PC hardware for a while I become interested in building my own PC.

I wanted something relatively cheap but powerful, that had the potential to be upgraded in the long run. I built it primarily for university coursework (report writing, app creation, database design, multimedia projects etc) and also some casual gaming.

The system has been amazing, the OS running on the SSD has been super fast and I couldn't imagine going back to a regular HDD. You are probably wondering why I have 2 rather low capacity SSD's and nothing else - this is because I got a good deal for the two SSD's on Black Friday and haven't found the need for any more storage since. I have my OS and general applications on the 120GB drive and games on the 240GB drive.

I was forced to purchase the Razer edition of the S340 because they had none of the regular cases in stock but its done the job as expected!

All other components in the system have been solid and I'm very happy I decided to build it as I couldn't imagine going back to a laptop like I was used to!

*Sorry for the lack of pictures and lack of CPU/GPU temperature info.

what do you think about the mouse and keyboard?

Cant complain at all for the price. Work as expected, the blue backlit keyboard is nice. Only slight issues are the mouse wheel 'squeaks' now after 1 year of use but it's hardly noticeable. Also to turn the keyboard light on you need to press the 'scrl lock' button, and this can be a slight issue when you are in programs such as excel as it will not let you use the direction buttons to navigate the cells. Again, these 2 issues are very minor and I'm very happy with the mouse and keyboard for how cheap they were!

Did you have any problems with the 2666 RAM and the Pro4s?

Not at all, the Pro4S BIOS made it very easy to manage the RAM speeds
