Description

Refresh of my previous build (http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Rabidbadger/saved/GRx9TW) once i was able to replace the processor from a duff 4770K that i was able to return and got my hands on a new GPU.

Changed out the H100i for a custom water loop with DDC reservoir pump combo and 240x 45mm and 360x30 Alphacool rads that i was able to squeeze into the case and changed out the fans bar one with industrial NF-F12's noctuas with just the one brown 140mm case air in one left to swap out.

Finally got my hands on a GTX 780ti to swap out the GTX 580 i had previously that is in some of the older photographs and got an Copper EK waterblock to interoperate it into the custom loop. This was purchased before the release of the GTX 9XX series.

Created a stencil of a Vanu Sovereignty symbol for the display window and used purple and green vinyl car spray paint to apply the image.

Switched out the purple leds for uv leds to set off the UV reactive tubing.

I've posted the old parts photo and evolution of the case to show where it came from and what its now become.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

As an NC, I'm bound by honor and love of freedom itself to despise this rig. But it has a really sexy spandex butt. +1

HEHE thanks. It was an NC themed case that MNPtech built for SOE live got me looking for a Vanu themed case and when i didn't find one i thought i should rectify that. XD

Technology is MIGHT

That actually looks really cool. I would have gotten a 970 instead of the 780ti, but oh well. +1

Rabidbadger submitter 2 Builds 2 points 51 months ago

Yeh i would have got a 980 but i had bought the components when the 9 series was still the 8 series rummours ;)

xx116xx 3 Builds 1 point 51 months ago

Ahhh I see. You may want to mention that in the description

Rabidbadger submitter 2 Builds 1 point 51 months ago

Thanks for the constructive crit. Description has been edited to reflect this.

The 780 ti is still a monster in its own right, and I believe it is more powerful than a 970.

That's not what I heard...

TilarP 2 Builds 3 points 51 months ago

970 is comparable to a 780. 780ti is about as powerful as the 980.

xx116xx 3 Builds 2 points 51 months ago

Didn't realize that. Thanks.

That's a really unique paint job, very cool!

Rabidbadger submitter 2 Builds 1 point 51 months ago

Cheers man. It took a couple of attempts to get it to that. XD

Looks great the stencil looks great but kind of obscures your build. How loud are those new industrials?

Rabidbadger submitter 2 Builds 1 point 51 months ago

The industrial noctuas are only running at about 500 rpm to maintain 50 degrees core temps while playing so the loudest thing in the system are the 2 mechanical drives at the bottom followed by the low hum of the pump.

If only TR numbers in Planetside 2 reflected the number of TR colors in computer builds on this site. 98% of builds are red and black lol.

This is awesome. +1000

Wow. Looks great! +1

Can it handle super large tank battles ? I had one that brought dual GTX 780s to from 140 Fps to ~60 Fps

Rabidbadger submitter 2 Builds 1 point 51 months ago

The games engine tends to give out before the hardware does. I tend to keep every thing on ultra with the frame smoothing on to try to reduce any frame hitching so everything locks at 60 neways.
