Description

I built this specifically to host my Plex Media Home Server….ohh ya ..and also to keep my son from gaming on my office PC  My theme was originally gold, however. it's difficult to avoid red when picking parts. Some parts I reqiuired were only available in Red so I stuck with the red/black theme throughout the build. I have it built a few weeks but I haven’t had time to fully test it yet. I installed games like Dying Light and Fallout 4, GTA V and they play beautifully on Ultra settings. I have no need to overclock or sli my graphics card yet. No heating issues whilst playing these games whatsoever. The PC actually feels cold to touch. I am away for few weeks so I will do some serious testing on it and post results here upon my return. I have about 10,000 movies and TV Shows so this will do nicely as the case provides lots of storage options. The system boots up in 7 secs and shuts down in 4 thanks to Samsung EVO SSD Outstanding: Cable Management (It won’t take much as I have a modular power supply) Add my media HDD’s. Any questions and/or advice is welcome. Thanks for looking and Happy Building. I think that deserves a Captain Morgans ;-)

Lol ...thanks for your kind first comment. Ya my offfice PC would just about play Dying Light on lowest settings and CPU was running between 90-98% so not good.

You put the wrong mobo at the parts list! Apart from that this PC is awesome!

Thanks for pointing this out and for your kind comment. That mobo was my first intention and forgot to change it. I have edited now to rectify.

+1 But you have intake fans in the front and top. At least the rear fans should be set to exhaust.

Hi mlach. Thanks for the +1. Sure can you please explain where you would put the fans. Thanks. Any recommendations to improve air cooling is welcomed.

Sure. Here's what I'm thinking I would do:

I'd keep the one red fan in back but have it turned around to push air out of the case. Leave the front red fan where it is. The top white fan that sits closer to the I/O shield would also be flipped around to exhaust air. The front white fan you have top mounted I would mount as a front fan for intake below the red fan thats already there. If possible, rotate the cpu cooler 90 degrees clockwise so the air coming from the front can be pushed through the radiator and expunged out the back and top of the case.

Lastly, the white fan in the 2nd chamber is really necessary. If there are mounts in the first chamber, I'd mount in on the bottom of the case near the front fan for additional cool intake. If any of this seems confusing, just say so. It's a little hard to describe how I'm picturing it.

How well is the cpu cooler doing? Are you overclocking the cpu?
