Build

Arctic Frost (First gaming PC)

by jappyboy

Description

This build turned out better than I had expected! This PC can crush 1080p gaming and can travel a bit into the 1440p areas! So far I have not found a game I cannot run on all/close to max setting (always over 70fps+)I mostly play Player's Unknown Battle Grounds, H1Z1, CS GO, Overwatch,Rocket League, Rainbow 6 Seige.

Will be buying another ram stick for 16 gb in the near future!

Part Reviews

CPU

Good for what I needed (I already had this inside a store bought pc)

CPU Cooler

Keeps the cpu cool, not that loud, easy install, nice red lights!

Motherboard

Great for what I needed, Easy to work with!

Storage

Super fast for booting off

Storage

good price, 1tb, WD, nothing more to say

Video Card

Got this on sale for the price of a Gigabite RX580! Super fast card

Case

Great case to build in, Just got confused when I didn't see all the motherboard pins I needed. (JUST CONNECT THE SATA POWER TO THE AVAILABLE SATA WIRE PORT IN THE CABLE MANAGEMENT STRAP) also nice rgb strip that is included

Other

Its ram... worked well... will be buying another for 16 gb in the future

Yahtadi 1 point 15 months ago

jappyboy submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Yeh I got a b250 so I can use a kaby CPU in the future if a choose to

cemilince 1 point 15 months ago

It's a B250 motherboard and locked CPU. So, no overclocking.

SubNauticaWaterWorld47 1 point 15 months ago

I know that. That's why I said any which would apply to the GPU.

jappyboy submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Not right now as I'm still setting most of my stuff up but I'll let you know if I do

cemilince 1 point 15 months ago

Well, you should've stated that. As you can see, I'm not the only one you confused with your statement.

SubNauticaWaterWorld47 1 point 15 months ago

Noted.

jappyboy submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Maybe in the future (I mean it is a strix after all)

SubNauticaWaterWorld47 1 point 15 months ago

Good to hear let me know what frequency you hit.

Do you think this build could get 150+ fps on overwatch with all low settings, 100% rendering scale, at 1080p?

jappyboy submitter 1 Build 1 point 14 months ago

Yeh ez

iRowdy 1 point 12 months ago

are you getting any gpu sag on that 580?

SpaceEnthusiast 1 point 11 months ago

How'd you get your hands on an RX580?

tuninglegend 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

Is it normal if my top covers are a bit yellow-ish, instead of the same lucid white that the entire case has?
