Description

Started collecting parts for this machine about a year ago. I live near a microcenter, plus keeping an eye on pricing over a long point of time allowed me to build this for roughly 1k. The silverstone case had to be modified to fit the Zalman cooler which was a huge pain. I ended up having to cut out a template for the cooler to make it fit. The power supply i ended up using i could have oriented different but then I would have had the hot air from it blowing into the case. The way I set it up it blows out the bottom but the power cable is smashed hard into the side cover also. Everything else fit rather well. My temps are wicked low, and it was pulling an average of 60 fps in Middle Earth benchmark. I haven't even started tweaking anything yet but my temperatures are wicked low right now.

I know how hard it is to build in these things. The case is slick as hell but just so brutal to get a rigg in that if you get it to mailfunction you really wanna check everything before dismantling it, gj!

This was my first build from scratch, going to put a second 970 in and liquid cooling for the whole thing. If you read this, or anyone else, is there any reason I couldn't run this on its side?

Nice build! but one question, since your 970 has the twin frozr fans wouldn't the temps be worse than having the reference model with the blower design that blows the hot air out the case? I want to use the 980 but can't decide to get the reference or 3rd party fans!

Good job my friend I share your FT03 mounting pain... My watercooling for the Titanium version just arrived, can't wait to get some free time and to put it together. Good component choice +1
