Am I safe to assume this was an experiment of some kind?

Nobody's mentioned that it has a Diablotek PSU? The thing will catch fire before you can fill the 250GB hard drive.

Lol I'd stay away from anything Diablotek related. Those things are a hazard.

But that's not a gaming desktop. It doesn't even have a GPU.

Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to call this one a gaming desktop as well. Running something at 1024 x 768 on the lowest graphical settings hardly qualifies as "gaming" IMO.

Mine has intigrated graphics

The GPU is within the APU, but yes I agree this thing is not for gaming. Just look at the settings it runs Arkham on.

Actually it does. Zotac GT 620 GPU.

Yeah, this build does but the one fangflight linked does not.

seems like a waste of $200+ , unless it was for a project

Looks like you are trying to sell this build, I would upload more pics and people on this site are not friendly to people selling PCs here. That is what ebay is for.

All and all not a bad build for the price, though I would have had different part choices.

This isn't as close to being the cheapest Gaming PC, if you dare to call it that.

you can actually go even cheaper and get a pc for about $185 that will be able to do most of what this does.

I built this for a school project using my school's money so I did not actually use my own hard earned cash for this. I was using a display adapter which may have tampered with my FPS

Is it bad to say that I don't consider anything that runs a game on med/high to not be a gaming pc?

I think your right. This is one of the lower cost pc, period.

im sorry but this was a waste of money to build a gaming computer or try to make one.

lol! Defiantly for games that are 2 years old like half life and portal 2.

I made a guide on cheap builds too: http://pcpartpicker.com/guide/Cd9TwP/extreme-budget-building

2015 gaming? 1024x768 30fps is 1990 gaming.

1920x 1080 60fps is about the minimum for 2015.

Well, to be fair, he did say cheapest. You couldn't buy a computer this capable in 1990. Heck, you could hardly buy anything today for that price.

yeah, but he also said its a gaming pc, which this is hardly, if at all.
