Description

I've used this pc for mainly gaming, also this is my daily driver. I just got autodesk maya and mudbox, i have noticed that when both programs are open i dont seem to have enough ram so for content creation purposes i may get an extra 16gb. I have yet to run into any other problems!! This machine is my dream come true :) I started out with a much worse pc but after a year and lots of convincing my wife i finally finished the upgrades!

Hope you guys like the build. I dont have great pictures but i will post what i've got.

Part Reviews

CPU

A nice CPU that i will be holding onto for quite some time even if it has to be put in my daughters rig. my chip can OC to 4.9 GHz stable but i keep it at 4.6 because i cant justify putting the extra stress on the cpu. i do boost it to 4.8 when i stream on occasion. the only reason i would replace this is for a better physics score in firestrike lol or the new look of x99 or z170 mobo's. also the extra 4 Ram slots would be lovely. But honestly this cpu does it's job very well and i am proud to call myself a Devil's Canyon owner

CPU Cooler

no leaks, i cant hear it at all, only thing that i would want is more cooling, although this does the trick for now.

Motherboard

when i first got this i had a ton of probs. 2 ram slots didn't work, pcie x16 didnt work. but after i got it up and running then updated everything, it seemed to fix itself.

Memory

pc partpicker says these dimm's are not compatible with my cpu but so far so good, i have xmp enabled and have these dimms running at 2600 with 0 issues so far. left the voltage at 1.5

Storage

my pc boots fairly quickly, fast loading screens. it does what it is supposed to, nuff said.

Storage

1TB HDD only thing i could want is more space, other than that its perfect.

Video Card

when i first got this card in, it had insane coil whine while playing doom, not constant but enough to piss me off lol, i have no clue how but the coil whine is no more, the temps are nice, its crazy powerful for a number of different applications. The only problem with this card is the software you need to use the led's, when using this software i have to reset my fan profile everytime i reset my computer.

Case

amazing case! came with 3 200mm blue led fans, i bought another to make it four. Since then i have replaced all of the blue 200mm fans with the noctua industrial 140mm's (they were not a perfect fit but i made it work) this case has ALOT of room to work with. i love that it has a dust filter everywhere except the back of the case. the swivel design of the side doors helps when trying to jam all of my cables in the side panel. I only wish there were alot more tie downs on the side so i could do a little better job of cable management.......then again maybe i just suck lol.

Power Supply

Very reliable. never failed me. i lover the modularity. you get what you pay for here, sadly i may need to upgrade soon if i decide to get a second 1080.

Operating System

it was free and i wanted DX12

Case Fan

MY GOD when i first installed these i had 5 of these and 2 120mm's hooked up to a silverstone fan hub, and they all went full tilt 100%, i swear to you i could barely hear myself think. I went to the backyard and i promise you i could easily still hear my pc with the back door shut and all windows closed, albeit i was sitting in a chair right outside the back door and my pc is in my dining room about 5 ft from the back door. after fixing this full tilt problem these fans still push a tremendous amount of air and are pretty quiet also, i would definitely recommend getting a few of these if you are looking at them #brwnFanMR
