Description

This is my first personal build, although I have done multiple builds for others. I took advantage of some great black Friday/Holiday deals from Newegg and Tiger direct.

In the future, I plan to add SLI 760's to drive triple monitors, but until then Intel's HD 4600 graphics will have to suffice.

What did the Corsair 750W say to the Asus Z87 using NZXT H230 as the messenger? "Nice cable management."

Haha. Very funny. And thanks! I took a look at your build, it looks great as well! Gotta love 4770's.

I had the same plan for my computer (SLI 760s) but then they dropped the 780 down to $500 and now I'm just saving to get that.

That's not a bad idea. Surprisingly, the integrated HD4600 graphics are doing a decent job of driving my three monitors, two 1920x1080 and one 1440x900, during light to moderate tasks.

I don't find that surprising at all. Intel's integrated graphics are unmatched as far as their 2D capabilities because that's what they are primarily designed for. They just aren't very good with 3D rendering.

That's great to hear. If I were to build mine again though, I would spend the few extra dollars on a Plus or Pro version of the Asus Z87. The Z87-A seems good so far, but I am just not entirely convinced of the quality control that it goes though. It arrived with a bent pin on the reset switch header and the placement of the power connections in relation to the mounting points did not give me much confidence when plugging in connections such as the main mobo 24 pin connector which required a bit of force.
