Used to pc game a lot in high school on a standard dell desktop. Eventually it got out of date to keep updating and I stopped pc gaming. Always wanted to do a build and I was finally able to. Went a little over budget but prices are crazy right now with bitmining. Im still playing around with overclocking both cpu and gpu. CPU is running smooth with 4.5ghz oc, may try to get a little more eventually. Any help with overclocking would be greatly appreciated. I know i cant go too high with air cooling but I dont want to dive into water cooling just yet.

GPU came with free mobo which would only accept 8th gen intel cpu. Not a huge deal, was only $20 more than the cpu I had picked out.

EDIT: Just added two corsair ML140 pro's to the front of the case. Added pics as well.

Thanks! I just ordered two corsair ML140 fans in red to add some more color and cooling. The cheapo coolermaster just isnt cutting it.

Well built! Where did you get the CPU + free MOBO?

noname11 submitter 1 Build 1 point 14 months ago

It was a free GPU (not cpu) with Mobo and it was on Newegg.

my exact build lol how is the build any problems im still getting some of the parts

noname11 submitter 1 Build 2 points 14 months ago

None really, case was awesome to build in. The CPU cooler barely fits, have less than an inch of room between it and the glass. Just wish the mobo came with more sata cables, had to use a right angle one on the mobo and its tight and bent weird. May order another set of cables.

Oh- one problem. Prices of GPU's are too damn high hahaha. Paid $470 for mine but came with the mobo for free luckily.

Did the mobo come with an SLI bridge?

noname11 submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

It does not.

Neat build. Just a quick question, did you run into any audio problems with the mobo? Quite a few reviews say that there is some hissing in the background when using speakers/headphones.

I haven't yet but the monitor I have has speakers. Haven't ran a headset on it much but if I notice anything I'll let you know.

I want to buy the same PSU you have. How is it? Good for overclocking?

noname11 submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I have it overclocked to 4.5ghz with the fan cooler in the purchase list. No issues so far. Dont know if id push it any farther without going water cooled.

I was gonna go with a kaby lake cpu but since the gpu came with a free mobo that only supported 8th gen I had to go with coffee lake, and it wasn't in the budget to go with an i7... unfortunately. When prices go down I'd like to upgrade to a 1080 and maybe that i7.
