I have always wanted a portable rig powerful enough to play games at 1440p and decided that mATX build would be the best for me. After going through 350D and 450D, I decided to go for the Arc Mini R2 in view of how modular everything are. Otherwise all the other parts are pretty self-explanatory (Except with the number of rams, I just want to max it just because, hehe).

Part Reviews

A very easy to overclock cpu. Otherwise more than enough for my gaming needs

CPU Cooler

A good cooler, however changed the stock fans since I want the lighting that came with the Enemax fans

Due to the number of the PCIE slots and the ability to use Combo adapter (BT/AC wifi) from the ROG ATX series makes this the only one that fit my need

I managed to get it cheap, otherwise nothing much I can say

The best options that is within my budget.

The Arc Mini R2 has two slots for SSDs/2.5 " HDD I went with this one to fill the gap

Video Card

Picking up an NVIDIA card due my monitor and I have managed to get this cheap

Great build. You mentioned some part reviews that you got them cheap. What cost what? Enjoy your build.

Since I bought it in my country, I forget the conversion rate. But the cheap ones were the rams, the GPU and the monitor. And thank you

Amazing how the monitor ups the total so much. And it has really dropped in price since it first came out. Nice system.

I managed to get the monitor when it first came out at the current price in my country, but yeah, it does cost about 1/3rd of the build haha

Does the 2.5 inch hard drive mount properly? I am going to do something similar but I am taking out the hard drive bays for a radiator

ryukagex submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

Hi, the mount is quite sturdy and I have no problem with it so far. You dont have to worry about taking out the hard drive bays :)

personally woulda choose a H100i liquid cooler its a lil more pricey but better bang for the buck just woulda had to step the case up to a define r5 or something like that by fractel design. not as portible but eh its nicer to have a more high end cooler for such a nice cpu ( i love the 4690k it actually even to this day is one of the best cpus out there especially to game on and for its price you cant beat it) why four single ram sticks im betting you could have found a bundle deal for cheaper just saying its how i try to do things at least in packs of 2 minimal due to how they test the sticks before shipping them out for being sold. great ssd but suprised you didnt just step it up to the 850 series due to there performance but still like i said very nice ssd as for the travelstar eh i woulda went with a single 2 tb drive like a baracuda instead of going for two completely different drives from two completely different companies, but thats just me. good case, KILLER video card best on the market as for right now, overall not a bad build but could have saved some here and there and done a lil saving on the space in the case but congrats its a nice build.

Good point, actually I bought the 105 without doing some research (lesson learned). As for the rams, initially I have 2 sticks but somehow the sight of 2 empty slots irks me, haha. The SSD was what in stock at that time (again, no proper research was done). The 1 TB 3.5 HDD was from an old build. But overall nice advice, would have done what you said had I have been more patient :)
