Description

I wanted to create a good computer on a strict budget not to exceed $500.00 in the bank. After a lot of research, I created this machine that I use for gaming and some programming work. I had $275.00 in amazon gift cards that I was able to put toward the CPU, motherboard, and the case. I bought the rest on amazon as well except for the operating system which I bought on eBay. I already owned the monitor. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and so far it has run great! No crashes or blue screens or anything like that. I'm running my favorite game, Skyrim, on ultra with about 50 mods with no problems at all. I'm impressed with the performance of this machine. It has passed my expectations.

The only thing I would have to say I have a concern about is the motherboards northbridge. I know MSI motherboards are known to run hot, but man, I wish it ran a bit cooler than this... 48 degrees on idle??? That's a lot in my opinion. I plan on investing in some more case fans to hopefully lower this temperature.

So, I hope you like the setup. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!

Nice build! +1 Honestly the reason your getting high temps is the 970 board. You would see a significant temp drop with a 990fx board.

Thanks for the comment and suggestion for the type of board that doesn't put out as much heat!

Absolutely! It does more than what I want it to do, so I am very satisfied. Thanks for the comment!
