Description

My first build ever, I had an old Hp that served me pretty well up until late last year. I called it my Frankenstein PC because I had practically replaced every component in it apart from the mobo and CPU ( it was an HP a1020n with an Intel Pentium 4 processor and running Windows XP). With the new consoles coming out in late 2013 I couldn't justify investing my hard earned money in something I new I didn't love 100%. So that's when I decided to make the move to PC Gaming. I didn't realize how addictive and expensive building and continually upgrading a PC would be. Half of the money spent was on parts that were purely cosmetic and for aesthetically pleasing purposes. I'm planning on upgrading more parts, but as of now I couldn't wait to post my progress so I uploaded what I had so far. I owe a lot of my motivation and inspiration to this site. It's Awesome!!!

I like your build, but pictured is a GTX 660 not a GTX 780

Thanks man! I know, Ive upgraded since that picture was taken. When I first installed the 660 I was disappointed at the graphics quality so I opted for a 780.It's the only shot of the parts I had at the time of building. I also had Kingston hyper x blu ram and that changed as well. The rest has pretty much stayed the same.

Nice build, but I don't think it was necessary to take almost the same picture 5,000 times. :P

Thank you ! I'm glad you like it, I knew at some point someone would point out that the pics were all very similar.I was so excited about finally posting my rig and had enough of a hard time figuring out how to upload them that I didn't really pay much attention to what was being uploaded. I promise I will definitely weed through the repetitive ones and filter them out. Although I feel like a parent with there new born baby and feel they are all worth taking a look at. It's kind of like my baby, Something I created. I;m definitely proud of it :)

Looks nice. What headset is that you are using?

That's my old console headset, the MW3 Earforce delta's which are pretty much mw3 themed turtle beach xp500. I still haven's been able to sync the mic to my PC though. Audio is just fine but I cant communicate thru chat yet.

Great build.

Question: Are any other purpose(s) for your (this) build? [other than gaming obviously]

Thanks! Honestly other than gaming I'm only using this build for general web surfing, movie streaming and downloading a ton of Hd movies.

This thing is so much nicer than anything offered by consoles. And with that 780, it will only get better.

This is your next upgrade with that sweet gpu. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7627/asus-at-ces-2014

Thanks, That's pretty creepy man, How are u reading my mind? That is exactly what my next upgrade was or is going to be!! It was either this Asus ROG or the current Asus g sync capable monitor. I just don't like the fact that the current available monitor is more of a DIY kit enabled monitor. No other company other than Asus has officially announced any legit G SYNC monitors. The 700 dollar price tag is definitely worth it, I may also look into 4k monitors as well, they seem to be lowering in price.

Ha! Great gaming minds think alike. But seriously this soon-to-be released monitor has it all going for it. Nothing else out there has 4k + 1 ms, + gsync.
