Description

Hey everyone, this is my first ever build which will be used for school work, gaming and video editing for my FIFA and other videos. lol.

Why I chose a 650w PSU? - I'm gonna overclock once I get a cooler and probably go Intel in the future and XFire maybe?

Why I chose that case? - It was on sale for 70$.

Why no SSD? - Not enough budget but will be getting a 64/128gb soon, very soon.

Why not NVIDIA? -The video card was on sale for 180-185 I think but I will go green team in the future or just XFire because I believe their fixing it.

Why is it called A Survivor is Born? 1. One standoff snapped off the case and got stuck on the mobo, but I fixed it. 2. That's the first thing that came in my mind while I was playing Tomb Raider on my laptop.

Monitor hasn't arrived yet so I'm using a freaking 15" Acer VGA monitor! OS will arrive on Tuesday!

If you have problems with anything like cables, etc, except for the parts, don't hesitate to comment and I'll fix it!

Thanks for viewing and yes, this house is carpetted. Peace! One more thing, the AMD heatsink is pure dog **** and I plugged the fan in the wrong header!

You have good cable management, it's a nice clean build. A question to help me with building a PC, do you think the AMD 6-Core would match up to an i5?

no it wouldn't but the fx-6300 is a great processor for the price.

Well ok. I'm no expert in hardware.

Well, you should not be giving out false information if you don't know what you are talking about. Also, yes the 6300 is a killer processor for its price range.

Oh come on people, I did say the i5 was better right? This is the first time I posted a build here and I'm already getting bashed by a bunch.

Very nice, and a clean build at that. Very nice cable management. For the budget I don't think anything is wrong with that processor. Seems like a very balanced budget build. I actually wish I went FX6300/7870 (or XT) with the budget build I made.

Feel free to check it out here: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/XIHackInABoxIX/builds/

My budget build I am referring to is "Project N.I.C.O."

I am sure game performance is great for the price. One question with the build, however. How are you liking that case? I was thinking about using one in black for an AMD APU based office build. Is it really silent? I have an NZXT Phantom for my personal PC, and I freaking love the thing, all fans on low, and I can't even tell it is running, except for the blue LED's.

Yeah should have spend a little more money for a fx-6300. The fx-4130 gets beaten by an phenom x4 965.

Yeah, but it was a $350 budget build intended for Minecraft and other non-intensive games, and general multitasking. It was for my girlfriend and she doesn't need much.

Right now the processor is overclocked to a modest 4.5ghz stable, and running at decent temps.

So far I really don't see any bottle-necking on the build. I have tested games like ARMA II and Battlefield 3 on it, and I can squeeze off Very High / Ultra settings @ 1080p averaging around 35-40fps.

Doesn't really matter though, I might slap in a new processor in the future and use that one for an office build, or I may just keep it since it is fine.

Either way, my main PC is running an i7, so it doesn't bother me much, since she is happy with it.

It's a very good case and really silent even on the max settings in the fan controller. I'm still using the stock cooler so I can't really say how silent it is until I buy like an Evo or something. Well you do have an ssd in your build so that's a plus.

Yeah, all three of the builds on my page are running SSD's since I refuse to build a new computer without them now.

Not only is the performance VERY noticeable, but the silence is a nice feature.

My main rig has a 2TB Western Digital Black in it, and the thing is so damn noisy. But now that it is only a data and storage drive, it is not under nearly as much stress as before.
