Description
First, an introduction, I'm 14 years old and this is my very first build. I had help from a good friend of mine to help with the building, and a there was a couple of errors after building. This took me a year to save up for and I "sold" my phone to my parents. After my first day of gaming, it wasn't switching on, and it was all because of the cases power button (it was faulty), I'm not bothered to RMA it from NZXT, as I need to buy a better case anyway. Also going to be upgrading the cpu cooler to a H100i. This build will mainly be used for gaming e.g. Assassins Creed, Titanfall and of course Minecraft and schoolwork. Below are the reasons for the parts:
CPU- Overclockable, don't need an i7 and one of the best i5 choices out there. MOBO- Can sli in the future, easy to overclock cpu on it. Also was going to go for the g43 gaming, but didn't want to spend more just for the killer lan. RAM- Got a great deal for this off ebay, it was only used for 3 months and well worth the price I paid for it. SSD- Was cheapest 120gb ssd and personally I think its equal to the EVO. For OS and important games. HDD- Needed someplace to store rest of my games, music. files and whatnot. GPU- Was going to get a 2gb windforce, but then I saw an auction for this great gem and won it for 280quid. I know that all of you are saying theres no point for a 4gb version but its only 20quid more than its 2gb version. CASE- Thought it looked good and was quiet, but very poor airflow, cable management and poor wiring, reset button and power button failed on me after a day. PSU- Fully modular for better cable management and no unnecessary cables hanging around. Also it lives up to its wattage unlike some Corsair psus, and single rail. OS- At first I used to hate windows 8 and 8.1, after being a vista and 7 user, but its grown on me and I got it cheap at a nearby computer fair.
Sorry I don't have any temperature for the GPU and benchmark results.
Finally, any ideas for a case upgrade, currently I'm looking for something that has good airflow and cable management, average looks, max of £140. Currently looking at Corsair Air 540 or NZXT Phantom 410. Thank for checking out my build. Any criticisms would be helpful.
