Description

I don't do much computer gaming, but I needed a strong computer that allows me to run several virtual machines simultaneously (thats why I needed the 128 Gb RAM), while also having enough processing power to crack passwords for pentesting. The combination of the Core-i7 6950 Extreme and the Nvidea GTX Titan X gives me more than enough processing power to accomplish this task. I will probably add another GPU later down the road, since I have more than enough room in this full size tower. I still need to do a bit more cable management, but I have plenty of time for that. I chose not to use the RAM fans that came with the Corsair Vengeance RAM, as those fans added quite a bit of unnecessary noise, while also being redundant since this system has ample cooling. Will update benchmark results later.

Nice build man!

That case costs more than my entire system!

Yeah, I know it's a lot of RAM, but when you consider that I need enough RAM for the main OS (Win 10 PRO), plus have enough extra RAM to distribute to my virtual machines (Kali Linux, Ubuntu 14.04, Apache Web Server, Win 7 Pro, Win 8.1, Win Server 2008, and Win Server 2012), the available RAM to each system gets used up very quickly. I can only dedicate 16 GB of RAM to each VM, while maintaining 16 GB for the host machine.

Completed a benchmark test using the NovaBench Beta 4.0. You can view the results here:

Note that these results are without overclocking the system.

Hi :)

Seagate BarraCuda Pro 10TB 3.5" 7200RPM: how does it perform? I am interested on buying it for storing alot of games, play them and save them there as well. Is it good for gaming?

That's a powerful build! I'd like to post mine on here - its a couple years old but I believe still pretty powerful.
