Description

PC Purpose

  • Gaming, such as Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim (with mods), Tomb Raider, and Dota2.
  • Web development, using Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, PHP, database system (for now it's MySQL, I'm planning to learn MongoDB later), and standard Javascript/HTML5/CSS3. I will be doing development in my second OS, Ubuntu 12.04. I will be using Virtual Machine from Ubuntu as well, mostly to check the compatibility with IE6 on WinXP and IE7 on Vista.
  • Browsing. Lots of tabs on Google Chrome

I really loved Corsair C70. The cable management clip has made the build really easy and enjoyable for me, even though my cable management skill is not too good.

Looks great- Looking at the power connections on the graphics card, did you install the adapters that came with the graphics card? if so those are for power supplies / systems that do not have the appropriate connections. You'd be better off taking them out, the least amount of connections the better for electricity. Aside from that happy gaming! It's always a pleasure seeing someone appropriately use their cable management holes ;) If you don't have any fans mounted on the top of the case, I'd take the 2 fans you have on the hard drive cages and mount them up there, move the hard drives into the bottom cage and remove the middle cage to get direct air flow from the front onto the GPU. If you have the two corsair fans on the front as intake, the side fan as intake and top top exhaust fans you'll be doing pretty good with airflow. The key usually is to have 1 more intake fan than exhaust to create a positive air pressure, though slight, to prevent a negative pressure that can cause vents / cracks to be a vacuum and suck in unwanted excess dust.

I wonder why you keep getting downvoted... You have really good suggestions and constructive criticism.

people get butt hurt when someone makes critiques on their build so they go around to my comments on even other builds and down vote like children throwing a fit.. Just childish and stupid if you ask me especially when nobody can give a logical and equally reasonable explanation as to why they disagree, which I invite because if I'm wrong about something it'll help me pass that information on to other builders.

Good point you have there. That seems stupid that people would do that...

Thank you very much for your kind comment and remark!

I still have a long way to go for a cable management, here is my second attempt: http://imgur.com/a/PuyUR. Hopefully I'm making progress. I will try to manage my cables again sometime this weekend, including removing the power supplies for the second pci-e and removing the fans for the hard drive cages.

Currently my airflow is as following, please advise me:

  • 2 front fans for intake
  • 1 back fan for exhaust
  • 1 side fan for exhaust, because my gpu doesn't use blower fans.

Thanks again!

Are those corsair performance fans loud at the from of your case? I'm having trouble finding some quiet ones :/
