Gutted everything and used new(ish) parts in this old and ugly case because free. The CPU was purchased off craigslist and so far everything works wonderfully
Sleeper pc +1
Wonderfully until Athena says no more...
I don't mean to be a TinyVoice in your ear...heh....heh..... , but the psu does not look of good quality. You would most likely need to replace that soon.
according to various psu calculators with all the peripherals I am using 210-240 W max, if I get a 300 W Bronze psu, will that be ok or will it be better to use a 430 W system though I don't need to waste all that energy?
I would ask tiny_voices, he knows more about PSU's than me. All I know is that PSU is sketchy, and might damage your components.
Did that PSU come with the case? Looks like one of those OEM PSU's. Either way I would consider replacing it with just about anything when you get some extra cash. Good build otherwise. +1
the psu was replaced a couple years back (maybe 5? I don't remember honestly)
I guess its a good idea to be safe and sure in this respect. I'll look into getting a better psu
I would upgrade to a higer quality and higher wattage power supply you'll get more upgradability, longevity of the entite machine, and you wont have the chance of the machine randomly braking on you
take those chances and let the computer run ALL NIGHT AND DAY
in terms of efficiency, since the system uses about 240 W max (and I never tend to push it anyways because I don't always see the benefit after a while) what would be the differences in a 300 W bronze or 430 W bronze?
There were many more mature and more reasonably correct ways to put that. And it would be AIDS unless you are referring to it giving you aides as in helpers and your forgot the "e".
what a ROAST!!
gambling is great, but I play very wildly. I'll look into getting a better PSU, even though I use the computer not very frequently
