Description

I had an old pc that my dad found so i decided to get new stuff coz it was slow and the inside was **** so i kept hard drive, mouse, monitor, keyboard, optical drive, and i already had a OS laying around so it kinda help me go for a cheap build with all the parts i already had. and yes i know that apu`s need faster rams so no need for that in the comment section :)

The monitor and keyboard were black so i spray painted them white so it will kinda fit in :) about the inside i haven't really do any benchmarks yet but i will maybe update this post in the future. the case i went for the white one and got it on a sale so it was like $30.got a mouse pad and headphone at Walmart :) ,table from Ikea ,chair from my work place (a shipyard office). im planing to get a video card and put maybe 1 or 2 fans in and to put a side window and maybe some LED lights coz i have to turn off the light at night coz i share the room with my brother so some LED lights will be fine. so for sharing some of the stuff u don't wanna hear about. its my post so deal with it lol :) i just felt like sharing

i will update this post in the future...

and a special thank you to vegabond139 for the advice and helping me out with some parts :)

Yeah, the air vents on the side is the reason why I don't like the Corsair 300r.

Well APUs only need faster RAM if you plan on rendering/gaming with it, but overall great build, really nice work with the colors too.

1600MHz ram is fast enough for APU's to game pretty effectively. Not 1080p 60fps but, close enough to like 720p medium settings 30-60fps depending on the game your playing.

For example: I've got an A6-6400k APU, one just below yours. And only 1x8GB's of 1333MHz Ram. Yet I can play the 1st portal at high settings 720p, 60fps. (it does go down in FPS here and there though but not much) Portal 2 surprisingly seems to play much better then Portal 1, while remaining at a constant 60fps with medium-high settings at 720p. If I were to go higher I'd be asking for like 30fps probably.

And of course, all of this with AA and such off. I'm also able to play the 1st Bioshock and the 2nd Bioshock at max settings 60fps surprisingly, I was heavily surprised they could even run at max settings on this APU given how beautiful it is. I haven't tried Bioshock Infinite yet, but, from Bioshock 1 & 2, here's hoping I can manage atleast low settings.

I'm also able to play Dishonered at around max settings as well, not sure what the frame rate is but it plays incredibly smooth for such a beautiful game. And yes, I do have all the DLC for it as well.

Fallout 3 GOTY plays relatively nice at high settings when inside at 60fps. Outside though, things get laggy and so on, so I have to lower the settings to like low-medium so I don't lag when going outside. Not sure why, but that's just how it is.

I've also played a couple of other games and they seem to run pretty much completely fine without lagging, at all. So considering you've got 1600MHz, much faster ram then I have, especially seeing how it's a dual channel, you should be able to play tons of games at playable framerates high settings, just as long as it's 720p.

APU's run better on dual channel ram dude, 1 stick isn't the best idea. unless it's an AM1 platform.

Did u just pull off the keys with your hands to replace them or is there some other way to do it.

yup i just pulled it out the long keys have wire in it so try to scoot it out then i sprayed it with paint them boom this baby came out haha lol :)

There are keycap removers (essentially a handle with two loops of wire you slide around the keycap, then turn so it is under them and pull to remove). But the hand method works pretty well once you remove the first one.

I do not see it posted here.GO into BIOS an go to Advanced.See if you can find anything to use more ram.

Love the custom paint. +1

Played any games on it? I'm doing a retro build and idk if the processor is worth it.

since i got it i played some dota 2 (max setting) and world of tanks (mid setting) i didnt do any heavy test yet but so far its great...get some good RAM tho the faster the better :)

This processor can do any Retro game you put at it, I mean I'm able to play Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2 at max settings. Both at 1080p. And if I remember, Halo Combat Evolved back in the day required quite a pricey processor to play on PC's.
You can also even play some modern games of today at high-medium-low settings (depending on the game.)
