Description

Ahhhh I do love a good theme :P For this one we were shown a Zazabi Neo Zeon Gundam which looked awesome, kinda like a robotic Samurai with two-tone red and a little metallic silver and a little bit of gold to top it off. Pilot figurine also in red with a cool silver devil helmet and golden blonde hair.

Off we set on a quest to find glorious components for the build, hunting for cool bits and pieces to paint and use within the build. Some of the bits are a little unique but in the PCPP list I've used easily found alts if you want to build for yourself.

Chassis chosen was the glorious Phanteks P400 which I love, great to take apart for painting and with the ability to mount the fans inside the front panel it provides a little extra room for diorama-rigs like these.

The graphics card in this one is really pretty unique down here in NZ, the brand is called Colorful and it's got a nice silver plate that was perfect for the build theme and an added bonus of red LED lighting. Shout out to the team from Asus NZ for hooking us up with that slick shield for the Mark #1 - you guys are the best :) We ended up using Tamiya model paints for the internal bits, our local car painter for the chassis.

Hope you like it, this is our second Gundam themed build, i'll add a pic of the first for that one right at the end of the image list, it was used for a special giveaway at the Armageddon Expo in New Zealand :)

Also we unboxed a bunch of stuff on insta, links below

With that cpu cooler did you have any problems mounting it to the p400 case. Looking to purchase it. Thanks great build

  • 1 point

Thanks :) No problems at all, cooler pipes are solid and there is even enough space to thread the CPU block through the front and hide the radiator if that's how you want to do it.

Using RGB AIO just to hide the fan lights? xD

Hey man, I am thinking about using this case, but I have a graphics card that is 298mm long, and in the compatibility check it says that in this case any graphics card over 280mm in width might block some drive bays, amd render them unusable. Your card is 286mm long, amd I was womdering if it is blocking any drive bays. Also, what would I use my drive bays for? I’m not very sure what they are.

  • 1 point

Hey man, you'll be fine with this case. Drive bays are underneath the shield so not sure how a graphics card could even hit them! They are used typically for the 3/5" large HDD.

  • 1 point

Awesome! Thanks man. I’m definitely getting this case then.

Wow. They're beauties. I actually changed my mind and went with the fractal design meshify c tg for better air flow. It was a hard switch to make and what you just showed me makes it even harder haha!

  • 1 point

haha you'll love the meshify too, I wish we had more Fractal down here in NZ!

How did u change the colours of the water block? And what kind of screws did u use to screw Ur radiator to the front like that? Did those screws come included in the packaging?

  • 1 point

ML240 by Cooler Master is RGB, it's unmodded (standard screws etc)

Can't remember if I used ASUS AURA software, I probably did, though could have used the CM software.

Ik this build was like 6 months ago but u kinda did it wrong. U could’ve cheaper out on some things without sacrificing performance. Like the psu, the OS, and cpu. And for me, I would’ve gone with a ryzen 5 1600x, cuz it’s cheaper and has more cores/threads with similar clock rates

  • 1 point

Love that Ryzen, yep it's good option if building for yourself but the 7600 was supplied by the customer and dictated internal setup a bit {:)

How's the Cooler Master 240L? Im debating between it and some air fans, but it looks sick so I'm interested

  • 2 points

It's easily my favourite AiO cooler, but hard to resist MA610P if you can fit it, so quiet so pretty

  • 1 point

Lol yeah, the AIO is nice but I think I may have gone over the top with cooling, if the AIO ends up failing I probably will buy the MA610/620

  • 1 point

I have one question.. why do you only have 128 gb storage???

Customer provided some components for this one :)

Puts Rgb. Doesn't show a single picture in the dark.

  • 1 point

Not quite sure what you mean but cooler looks like this in the dark https://www.instagram.com/p/Be9B0TJAjhh/?hl=en&taken-by=goodgamingpc

full system wise, it has 3 small LED internals and 2 external parts, it's not a blazing with LED strips type build.
