Bought 90% of the parts on sale/discount from local stores and during the holiday sales from just before black Friday to Christmas. Built last year and just put the final touch on, the 1080Ti. Updated parts list and pictures.
Now bout the computer: Have had it for about month now. OC CPU to 4.5 was stupid simple and it handling just fine. Now the RAM is 32gb DDR4-3000. I havent actively tried to push it to the 3000, by default it will stick at 2133. I have told the Mobo to push the required 1.35v tho the RAM to get 3000, but fails to boot after reboot. Other wise it works great and you can save ~$20 by just getting the 2133 version. The Samsung 950pro 512 is heavenly to me, allows storage w/o added wires for power or SATA cables, makes a clean look and its incredibly fast. Got a second one because of multiple VMs and play CTFs. As I was building on this reflection for this tells me to go with a cheaper SSD, WD has a great SSD for much cheaper. Upgraded from MSI 970 card. Now put the MSI 1080Ti Gaming X, Love the new card. The case is fregg'n awesome, love the way it looks and the fact that it does have SO much room. in the front i have 3 Corsair 140 quiets, and one in the back for exhaust. Then the top disassembles and has spot for the Corsair H100i GTX cooler and makes it simple to install. Cable management lacks just a little on the backside, wish they would have added few more spots to tie stuff down to. But was able to take off all the cages for HDDs and make it look so nice. The little black bar on the bottom of the window isnt a bar to say, its just really tinted, which is cool because of the NZXT Hue+ lights go by the PSU, it lights up the side and still dark enough to hide the wires coming off the PSU. And due to the amount of space, I start filling it with stuff that I got from LootCrate. The NZXT Hue+ is worth a mention, i have 4 strips magnetically stuck around the case, it has the 3m sticky if you choose to use it. i was going to use the sticky to mount in place, but the magnets work just fine. The CAM software is pretty good, allows a wide selection of colors and patterns to use.
Finished off with some cable extenders from CableMod. They have much better appearance then the stock Corsair PSU cables.
I plan to keep this build for the next few years without dropping anything else into it. Let me know what you think!
