Description

My first build, had already built this few weeks ago, just manage to get some free time to publish it. This rig is mostly used for gaming and doing work.

It was fun putting all the parts together, but cable management was frustrating, would definitely get a modular PSU if I knew cable management was a pain in the ***.

Pretty happy with this build, cuz it's way faster and better than my old laptop, and it's pretty quiet as well.

Currently using my laptop HDD, going to buy a 1TB HDD soon. I've also purchased NZXT sleeved white LED, going to add it into the case when it arrives.

I wouldn't say "not a beast" I mean, it has a 280x, and thats a good card.. and thats coming from a guy who prefers nvidia. lol. could you do me/us a favor? could you tighten up the cable management just a bit to make it look more cleaner? good build though!(instead of that white sleeve from NZXT, you should get the NZXT hue, its an RGB controller, with so many options for colors) :)

yea I'll definitely do that when I get my new HDD. Thanks for the LED suggestion btw, unfortunately I've already bought the one I mentioned on top last week.

If you're ever looking to buy new LEDs in the future, I will agree with Sparky and say that the NZXT Hue would be a very wise investment. They've got plenty of colors to suit any kind of build and go with the color scheme, they also have cool effects like a blinking light effect and many more.

This thing is a beast! I think the cable management is very well for a non-modular supply. Mine is pretty gross. I might go back in there and see what I can do.

Yea, I regret not getting a modular PSU, things would be so much easier if I was smart enough to spend a bit more $$ on modular one.

I wouldnt say this isnt a beast.. Any 270x and 280x with a 4670k is very very very solid. I just got a MSI 270x Hawk and a 4670k. I havent put it together yet but ill be sure to post some benchmarks when i do.

Nice build! It has the main components(cpu, ram, gpu) that im planning to use next year for my build. So tell me about its performance! :D

Yea they are pretty good, can't really see the performance difference for the ram though. but for the gpu, I chose asus because it's quieter than the other one. This is the link I used as a reference. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-280x-third-party-round-up,3655-5.html

I think you forgot "just" "not just a beast" because you have some great parts 280x,legendry I5 overclockable CPU,with a SSD 8 GB ram (this is probably the best thing for gaming) but you can call somehow a semi-beast

lol yea i haven't overclock it though, planning to overclock it during winter

I would recommend you flip power supply upside down if you are leaving that beast on the carpet.

yea but the case stands is pretty high and the carpet is flat

Nice job, especially with the tight constraints Aus taxes put on ya.

Just got back from Melbourne (sister's wedding) and I couldn't believe the prices on just about everything. The only thing that's on par with prices here (Canada) is meat...

yea i wish i live in US, i could get better components with the amount of money i spent on this build

Well, as I said, at least you have proper bacon and cheap steaks...

how's the 280x treating ya ? i bought one myself but havn't recieved it yet(its on it's way). i was wondering if your having any artifact issues with this card, because i heard alot of people are having it, and if so how did you fix the artifact problems?

I'm not sure actually. I didn't get much time to play with it, cuz I went on holidays few days after I built this rig, and I still have to wait for few weeks before I get back. But thanks for letting me know that, I'll keep an eye on it and see if I'm getting any artifact issues.
