Description

So this is my first build, so please needed constructive criticism is needed. I've used up most of these products as a Deadpool theme of red and black. Also, they're both of my favorite colors.

CPU: Purchased at Microcenter and was my first part that I bought. I've yet to overclock it yet, but with more experience, that will happen.

CPU Cooler: I was pretty confused on how to install this part, so my friend came and helped me out. It's now working fantastic.

Motherboard: I love this board. MSI is an amazing company with amazing products. The color theme and the soundboost makes this even better.

More texts to come. If you have any suggestions, I'm free to listen! Thanks (:

P.S. cable management has been done. Also the RAM has been switched to the other slots.

Nice build +1 I wish the GPU came with a backplate. The cable management can clearly be improved. The DDR3 are placed in the wrong slots, they are currently NOT running in dual channel mode. According to Z97-G45 Gaming Manual If you have 2 memory stick, they should be placed in the slots 2 4( 1 2 3 4 ) Download the pdf manual and go to page 15 of the PDF if you wanna check it.

Great Build as marseryy said above cables need tidying. You probably wanted a red Graphics card but you do have green lighting the MSI GTX970 100ME even though a green card instead of red it does have a backplate and there is still some stock at Newegg and amazon I had to hunt for one I live in Aus and needed a green card for a build. I like the backplates but it does not ruin the overall look for me :), and yes move your RAM. otherwise nice system :)

Sweet, thanks for the feedback. Do you believe it's too late to switch the RAM? Actually, the cable management actually can be improved, but due to have so many, I've have not had the time to.

Is that really how this motherboard has its dimms setup? Pretty sure thats wrong. Edit: Also why samsung pro over evo? they have the same performance with the evo costing much less.

I would have gone with a 1000 watt power supply if this was my build but you be you.

Yeah you're actually over estimating by about 500W there bud

I said if it was my build I would have gone with a 1000 watt so I could just keep expanding and put two or three top of the line 970's or 980's graphics cards without having to buy a new power supply.

This build draws about 400W max, why would you ever need a 1000W? It just needs a 550W- 650W like it has, and even that is plenty of overhead for one GPU

Not bad for your first build. Also if you're going to post a build on a public site like this you are opening yourself up for constructive and destructive criticism so saying something like "please do not judge" is kind of hypocritical (??). This isn't a bad build for your very first, you'll learn more and more as you go along, build and rebuild and build different PCs. Start off with something simple, work on cable management, it involves no real technical ability or anything beyond having opposable thumbs. That CPU 8 pic power cable for starters has no business being draped across the entire board, it needs to be rerouted to the upper left corner of the case where there is a cutout specifically for it.

"dont judge me"

If you say that I'm pretty sure that makes people extra critical.

In which I have to say, WHY THE CX PSU!?!!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I've been looking at this case for a bit. How do you like it?

It's an okay case, it does get scratched very easily. I love the colors, but I just wish the window panel was a bit bigger.

At least the CX lineup is on the tier list, all be it tier 4. I don't see him having any issues with it as he will be using less then 400w at load. I would not be shocked if this thing normally runs between 250w and 325w normally. The rest of the build is pretty decent and well thought out, I would not sin him for picking an upper midgrade PSU with an otherwise decent build. People over stress the PSU debate.

***I say upper midgrade due to all of the trash PSU's out there.

I might think about coloring the lettering for it pretty soon. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes I know the management is horrible, but will be improved!
