Gigabyte motherboard has creative sound blaster on it which is great. If you have money, you can also select overclocked ram instead of DDR-2133.
To answer the questions you all have.
A| Probably built this a while before news of Pascal.
B| Could be they just want big black titan cards, some people like having that sense of prestige.
C| Calm down. I see one more "Y No Pascal?!" comment and I'll burn you like a passively cooled R9 290x in CFX
I agree, It seems everybody is willing to jump on the pascal train, even though It beats the 980ti in single card performance, how about we all hold our criticism until we see a pair of them in SLI, even so, OP might have a use where he needs 12gb of VRAM
Tek Syndicate did 1080 SLI benchmarks. It's their most recent video.
Besides, the 1080 only supports 2-way sli, so.... You can still do the 3 way sli only if you get a special patch from nvidia, and then the third card HAS to be a physx card.
Actually not correct. Natively it only supports 2 way. Nvidia also gives direction on how to setup 3 way and 4 way. That aside the amount of people doing 3 and 4 way SLI combined is smaller than the number that do 2 way. Hence, this is not a valid argument on why not to get Pascal.
I guess I must have misread whatever article I was reading then. Whoops. I don't mean to steer anyone away from buying the pascal cards, as I personally have no brand that I fanboy for, neither intel nor amd nor nvidia. I think they all make good products that, in the right circumstance, will perform very well.
If you waited for the 1080, you could have saved around $1000
uhh... The GeForce GTX 1080 isn't $100... I think you maybe meant $500?
You are right people! I didn't buy parts of the pc at once. I have just finished assembling them this month. I bought Titan Xs within April and I wasn't aware of the news. However, I don't regret too much. Benchmark results are great...
I'm sorry, it still hurts me even though I'm not the one who did it.
Return it with EVGA's step up program.
yea wht he said, haha.
The youll save money and be able to buy whatever you feel like
the benchmarks will be great yea, but not the same as the 1080's
but the gtx 1080 hammers the titan x in all the benchmarks ive seen......................
In gaming benchmarks.
As far as cuda cores are concerned, the Titan X is still better.
Also, the 12GB of VRAM still has some benefits for some users.
wait whats the purpose of the titans actually?
Heavy rendering and stuff like autoCAD.
The Titan X were never for gaming to begin with.
Cable management, fam. Do it.
This build looks great love the titan's. I know people are saying 1080! 1070! But this is a masterpiece in computer arts just flawless to me from what I see. Games will be butter and 3D modeling will look great.
Everyone getting annoyed with the Pascal comments. It's a perfectly valid critique to make, especially when someone is spending this much on a computer and provide no detail as to when this build was done or why they chose their parts.
I agree. Why spend two grand on cards that will be obsolete in several days. Better to reallocate that money toward a really nice monitor.
Not in the description though where it actually matters lol. That's the first thing people are going to see aside from the part list.
People should make a cursory glance over the comments before commenting. Good general rule of thumb.
He/she probably already had this built for awhile and just decided to post it recently, lighten up.
Exactly, chill out people >.<!
+1 for cable management
He probably has a good reason for the GPU's so don't ask.
Nice build! The blue LEDs in the pic make it look like it's in water to me, very nice.
not sure why people are defending op against the "why Titan X" questions... it's a legitimate question and really should have been addressed in the description. I had the exact same question.
@op: editing the description to describe the reason you chose parts, such as the GPUs, may save you some grief.
Maybe he needs 12gb of VRAM, enough with the "y no 1080?!?!" comments, they are getting really annoying, and honestly id wait until evga, msi, gigabyte etc. make their own versions of the cards. Will be much better than getting a stock nvidia 1080.
In my opinion, the reference cards are the best.
Which is what pains me, I want to get a 1070 reference card, but they renamed it Founders Edition and plopped an extra $100 on it.
Lot's of people are wondering why he/she didn't wait for the 1080 but why lga1151 why not 2011-3
There are a few games that benefit from 6 cores, but by and large most games care more about 4 faster cores.
I have the same set of lights. +1
WHY THE TITAN X??? 1080 IN 6 DAYS!
He didn't know the news
Why on earth would you get Titan X's for $1000 each when the 1080 outperforms it and comes out in 4 days with a price tag of $600 each
Dude he didn't hear the news also titan x probably does better in rendering
maybe he had this build for a while and decided to post it now
Also 1080 only goes up to 2-way sli
That's not true, you can do 4-way.
but not with to HB bridge
But, it is still possible though and I feel that the same people who are enthusiastic about 3 and 4 sli will not care about that, just that theyan do it.
You can but its not supported
Well, they at least partially support it. They've given people the tools to do it so...lol
