Description

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and let me introduce you to Matilda my First ever DIY PC!

As you may notice, a lot of the items are priced cheaper then the normally are but let me assure you, ALL of the items were bought in NEW conditions. Over the past 4 months I've be looking around the internet for better prices and these were the results! Almost a 400 dollar savings for the same items! (Here's a full price list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MnqLWZ)

This computer is used mostly for gaming and some light amateur photo editing. It runs incredibly well. Every game I've tried is run in Ultra at 1080p generally at over 100 FPS (Far Cry, Darksouls 3, Skyrim, SMITE, HOTS, Overwatch). The rig is also very silent and unobtrusive minus the mechanical Keyboard which is Loud as F**k (first one ever).

I would like explain my Choice in PSU and Keyboard:

1) Keyboard: Lenovo Y Gaming Mechanical Switch Keyboard. I bought this at 1 day special in Best Buy for quite a good discount. I was the cheapest mechanical KB I could find. All in all, it has worked great and look pretty neat though I'm thinking of Buying O-rings to quiet it down.

2) PSU: XFX 600w ATX 12V OK, so yes there are a lot of better PSUs but this was the only option at the time for many reasons: 1) I don't live in the States (Dom. Rep.), since most PSU weigh a lot they cost much more to import and no one in the recent future was going to be able to bring it here. 2) This was pretty much the only trustworthy brand Psu here.

Thats All Folks! If anyone is interested I might make a Guide as to how I actually got those prices!

Most XFX power supplies are pretty good so I wouldn't worry too much about that one.

A few Cable Management Pics have been Uploaded. Sorry for the Crappy quality but it was the only camera I had.

The Cable Managemnet Sucks, I've been trying to figure out how to removes the Panels to try and route some cables inside, but have had no luck yet! If you do find out tell me.

Where did you get that mobo for that cheap?

It was a really lucky find on Amazon. When checking the MOBO out, one of the non-amazon vendors had it listed a that price with free shipping. It seemed to good to be true, but I took the risk (since anything sold in amazon es covered by the A-Z guarantee) and It arrive in perfect conditions, sealed, everything include and It works perfectly.

So Yeah, I was lucky.

How'd you get that case new for $50. Thats normally a $120+ case?

In January this year Newegg had a ShellShocker Deal with the case. I paid 80 Dollars, but it had a 30 dollar Mail In Rebate which came 2 months later.

Looks great! I just started building my 380t (white). Did you have a molex or SATA for powering your 3-speed fan connector? The corsair build log showed that I should have a molex. I didn't see it. Can't tell but from your pictures I think I am seeing a molex connector.

Actually I'm not using the fan controller from the case. Since I bought the 3 pack Thermaltake Riing Fans, they all connect to 1 thermaltake fan controller to manage the LEDs and then that controller has 1 cable that connects to the Motherboard so the system runs all 3 fans.

Awesome. Well, it looks great. Pretty cool too that you are only using one fan plug on the mobo. I am kind of annoyed that on the BIOS I only see my CPU Cooler running since the fans are going straight to the 3-speed and not the mobo.

FYI, I did get everything going last night. SATA worked fine for power.

Thanks for the response.

Commend the patience! Taken me 8 months, but my build is almost done and very similar to your own. Same cpu, ram amount, even the same deal to get a discounted 380t

Really nice build, those Riing fans gave your build an awesome look. Could you tell me what's the size of your monitor?

Thx for replying! I also have a 21.5" monitor and was wondering how my desk would look if I had a case like yours. Now I got my answer XD

how did you get the riing fans to fit?

  • 1 point

What do you mean? The case supports either one 140mm or two 120mm in the front. I took out the stock fans, put 2 riing fans in the front and one as the exhaust in the back without issue.

Haha, nevermind when I was installing the two yellow fans two nights ago the top one had a little trouble fitting in so I had to give it a little push. Haha!
