Description

Hey All,

This is my first gaming computer that I have built in since 2004. My last computer was a Shuttle XPC w/ Athlon 64 3200+ and a Radeon 9800xt. It is crazy how much technology has evolved since then!

After spending many days researching hundreds of cases, I decided on the Fractal Design Define R4. To sum it up in one word, this case is Fantastic. Installation was a piece of cake and loved how easy it was for cable management.

I was lucky enough to get a great discount on the processor and purchased a used Asus GTX 680 from a close friend.

Special thank you to PCPartPicker for helping me find the best deals on my parts.

Are you sure thats an ASUS 680? It looks like a reference 680 packaged inside an ASUS box. The ASUS model doesnt have the GEFORCE GTX lettering on the side of the card. EDIT: also you should take off the top HDD bay for better airflow

Great build. Looks very clean inside. And excellent component choices and prices. one thing, if you aren't using the middle HDD tray then remove it for better front to back airflow. The bottom tray should be enough for SSD and HDDs.

Thanks all!

theonewolf - I am Chinese. We keep the plastic on everything :) hehe

YourLocalPCNoob - Strange! I did a picture Google search and it looks like some cards have the GEFORCE GTX letting on the side and some don't? If there a way to find the manufacturer name in system settings?

PickItApart - Thanks for the suggestion. I will remove the HDD bay right now :)

Really nice prices on those parts. Thats a stock NVIDIA GTX 680. What they do is they manufacture them, and all the big companies pull apart most of the cooling systems ect and do them up a bit. Nothing wrong with it , just trying to clear it up.

Great Build. +1

How do you like the wireless card? Has it been reliable? Are the drivers good?

Thanks for the comments.

Lettershort - The wireless card has been really reliable. Speeds are fast and I have yet to get disconnected. I highly recommend.

Chazzy - Thanks! I spent quite a bit of time researching parts. The whole process of buying parts and putting it together was more fun than the time i spend actually using my computer!
