Description

I built this computer as my senior project in high school. I had never built a computer before this. It has worked well with pretty much everything but is a bit slow upon starting. I mainly use this for gaming and photoshop/premier and have been able to run every game on max settings so far. I'm planning to install a Corsair H100i and more fans this weekend because it does get hot when using the stock fans.

Edit: I reinstalled Windows 7 and have been getting better boot times than before. I also installed the H100i I was planning to get as well as 6 fans (2 on H100i and 4 others on case). I messed around with overclocking just a bit and was able to get a 4.7 Ghz overclock with decent temperatures.

This is a really solid build. Good overall parts list and cable management is excellent! Hope you got an A on this project :)

Also for the slow start up, I've always notice Windows 7 to be fairly slow in comparison to Windows 8. If you go into your BIOS and set the logo splash screen time to like 1 second that will help with startup. Mine was defaulted at like 5 seconds!

Any reason for the ram being 2133? Nice build,+1

Very nice. Definitely get a better cooler and overclock that puppy. With that mobo and an H100i you will be able to get it to a stable 4.5 GHz just by upping the multiplier. How slow is slow for you? It seems hard to believe considering you have an SSD (which I hope is your OS drive). My system is similar and boots in about 30 seconds from cold.

This is exactly how I got into computers. I got curious and built one. Now I'm a software developer and loving it. This is a very good built!

If you're wanting to get into IT, I'd say you've made a great first step!

You were allowed to build a pc for your senior project? I'll definitely try to do that!
