Description

I wanted a solid gaming rig that would last a while before it was obsolete so I built this beast and I think it came out pretty well! Still needs some cable management and benchmarking so I will be sure to update.

Why are you using the molex to 6pin adapters? Your power supply has dedicated 6pin plugs built.

yeah. why use molex adapters.

Build looks great overall. Definitely use the PSU 6-pin connectors though. The molex connectors are so cheaply made and I have had them melt in the past.

Pretty powerful build, although I do have to question why you bought the wireless pci-e adapter when the mobo comes with a wireless ac adapter built in. Also, why did you spring for a full tower? And I would recommend using the included 6-pin plugs that the PSU should have come with rather that using molex adapters. The PSU is very overkill for this build but since you did want to "future proof" it then it should last you for a ton of upgrades. All in all it's not a bad build, certainly very powerful, I'm just curious about some of your choices.

Clean up the cable management. That case is great for cable management. Use it. Otherwise, great build, +1!

How old is that PSU?

Also get a mousepad!

Nice! I'm sure you're good through at least this generation of consoles. What's happening with the power cables to the video card?

So is the full tower the best type of case to use?

Maybe not the best, there's plenty of stuff out there that's full tower and cheaper, but Corsair's stuff IS always pretty good.

Jesus Case, man! xP

Get rid of the MOLEX adapters. You don't need them as the PSU cables plug up just fine. Also why did you get the wifi nic when the mobo has one integrated? Just curious. I know of a different mobo (gigabyte z97n-wifi) that handles over 12mbps download speed easily, and considering ostensibly that this mobo is a step up in quality, it should do just as well if not better. And the CPU cable (ribbon cable you ran infront of video card and mobo up to the top) should be able to be ran through the back through the nearest grommet beside the PSU straight up to the top grommet above the mobo tray.

So in all just a few things I would fix or clarify:

CPU cable re-route work. MOLEX adapters on video card gets removed. Clarification for wifi nic.

Everything else looks great and makes sense. Good job!

that thing is gigantic next to your desk. i guess i just prefer mid-sized computers with near-perfect cable management. ;P
