Description

Build Date: 12APR2016

A close friend of mine had recently moved to the area and his PSU went out and was looking to replace his Frankenstein of a build. The only re-useable pieces from the old build worth anything was the 212 EVO and the GTX 970. He picked up the 970 on sale + MIR, a year ago making it an incredible buy at the time. I had 3 Corsair LED fans in my inventory, so I traded the 3 blue fans that come in the RISE to fit his red/black color scheme(so hot right now). The build's name comes from his online gamer tag.

Pros:

  • 250GB SSD/1TB Combo
  • 16GB RAM
  • Tier 2 PSU

Cons:

  • No overclocking
  • No SLI capability

Notes: This build was for a friend, so I didn't charge him anything for labor/part picking. Since I know a lot of people are going to make a comment on parts selection, I will go ahead and address that the reason for the H170 was because it was on sale and had features that my friend wanted on it that the B150 didn't have. In addition, I know that the 6500 can't be overclocked... The reason for the 212 EVO is becuase he already had it from his previous 2500k build.

PS: As always.. Sorry for the crap pictures.. I will have a camera soon! I promse!

Good build. Don't worry about not overclocking, You wouldn't get much of an overclock using just the 212 EVO. Great choice of parts regardless. +1

You do realize that the 212 EVO is one of the best overclocking air coolers on the market right? You can overclock a pretty decent amount with a 212.

He bought the 970 a little over a year ago. The 390 wasn't even a consideration.
