He was jealous of my own setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/xlV

So I built him one of his own. Budget at the time was about $650 and I passed on my 570 to him for like $225. OS was free to him.

I know he plays mostly Valve/Source games, but this thing handles most games at his resolution (1080p).

it's really good for overclocking, and it's good great Ghz for a good price.

Yeah, I guess, but in a couple of years, pci express 3.0 might come in handy. Still an awesome build!

Honestly, PCIe 2.0/2.1 isn't even being utilized to the fullest. I'm sure he's safe as far as graphic bandwidth is concerned, lol.

It was $179.99 on sale at the time of purchase. I told him if he wanted to push a little more out of the system in the next few years (IF it ever does need it) he could overclock it. But for now, for the games he plays, it's fine at stock. The option remains there for him, though.

Your build is nice and all but what i'm really interested is in those speakers. What are those? bose?

It's not mine, but I think they are just a semi old set of Bose 2.1 Companion speakers.

How well does the motherboard work? That is a good price for a board of that quality.

Board works fine. Plenty of options for OC'ing RAM and CPU. Nothing that you can't find in every other motherboard nowadays, but I recommended it to him simply because of the support EVGA has.

That's part of the reason I was looking at it. I trust EVGA, just didn't know how their boards were rated.
