Description

This is the mini ITX build I've been working on for a while and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I'll use this pc mainly for light gaming and productivity. Some parts come from last year's build!

I matched Life is Strange posters to my build since I'm devoted to that universe.

CPU & Cooler I had the chance to get this beast for a good price, and hopefully it'll lasts me a long time. I paired with a NZXT liquid cooler because it really helps with temps and it's aesthetically pleasing.

Motherboard Clean and functional, Asus motherboards are great. Also the lights in the back are awesome.

Ram Basic ram, the cheapest I found last year. I'm glad they didn't cost me a fortune like they do now.

Storage I couldn't live without an SSD, and this one is really fast. I also had a nice deal with this one. I'm using an external HD for bigger files aswell.

Case This is pretty much the reason I've started building this whole thing, it's just beautiful and compact. It might take some time because of the amount of space you have while putting everything inside, but it's definitely worth it.

Power Supply Seasonic means quality. It's cheap, silent and never failed me once.

GPU Since I don't play heavy games, I don't really need an expensive graphic card. I'm happy with it for now, but I think I'll consider buying a new one with the next generation coming this year, only if needed.

Keyboard First time with a pure mechanical keyboard, I'm impressed with how responsive and fast it is. It's also saving me space on my desk cause it's a TKL model.

Others NZXT RGB fans are beautiful, they came with the HUE+ which I had to connect to the internal usb HUB due to the lack of USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard. It's tricky but worth it in the end.

That setup looks insane. Colour coordination is on point, yet it is so clean and simple. You can't go wrong with adding posters either haha. +1

Only thing I would suggest would be a mouse pad so that a) you don't risk scratching up the mouse feet on your Rival over time and b) for extra comfort.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 28 days ago

Oh wow thank you! Yep I removed it for the sake of the pictures, I always use a mouse pad :P

ApocPony 4 Builds 3 points 28 days ago

So much cleaner than my desk +1 also awesome build love the colour scheme.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 28 days ago

Thanks! <3

Arminecraft 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

Love it. Every single thing. It looks awesome, congratulations.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 28 days ago

That was kind of you, thanks ♥

EpicReplayMC 2 points 28 days ago

Good job taking your time with the LED's. They look incredible. Frankly, your entire desk is amazing. The only visible cords on that desk were the mouse and keyboard cords. Nice job. Can't get over the color scheme.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 28 days ago

Thank you so much! YEah I don't mind having a couple cords on my desk :D

HawkMagic54 1 point 28 days ago

Everything is beautiful, but you could try routing the mouse cable under the keyboard and then routing the mouse and keyboard wires together for a cleaner look. Amazing build either way +1

Tank_Blaster 2 points 28 days ago

How did you get that Life is strange poster?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 3 points 28 days ago

Printed them by myself! Just normal paper. You can find those HD pictures on the internet

Khaosix 19 Builds 2 points 28 days ago

Doesn't get much cleaner than this.

+1

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 28 days ago

Lmao :P

bbogle86 1 Build 2 points 28 days ago

A very clean and well thought out setup! +1 to you, enjoy it for years to come

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 27 days ago

Thank you a lot mate!

leesar2121 2 points 27 days ago

Those are some clean photos, definitely didn't take them with an iphone. Digging the PC too.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 27 days ago

Yep. I took these photos with my Canon 1300D camera :D

CooproxXo1 2 points 27 days ago

That build is so clean! I’m surprised by the kraken for a locked i5, but it looks sick, so I totally agree!

saidkinga 2 points 27 days ago

Wow. So gorgeous & clean. Love the purple theme and how it contrasts with the white desk and black peripherals. A job well done!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 27 days ago

Thank you so much!

sodom 2 Builds 2 points 26 days ago

nice setup, especially case :)

endurancist 2 points 23 days ago

Looks fantastic! I think it's the first RGB build I've seen that actually looks great. The table is also very aesthetically pleasant to look at too!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Wow thank you so much :D

DaddyDarksie_ 2 points 23 days ago

Prob one of my favorite new builds. Its so clean and purrty! NZXT is gonna make me change my mind on a couple things..

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Thank you. I dig NZXT products so bad. They look clean and have the best quality.

PcBuildingNo-body 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

So clean.

BoadTheToad 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

Hot damn! The cable management is phenomenal, I love the colors and just how simple the whole setup looks. The PC on its own just looks incredible, just how compact yet how clean it is. Amazing job on your setup. +1 :D

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

That was very kind of you! Having a clean, compact white & purple desk was my priority :D

TenTonnesofDoug 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

Very nice, but it's missing a nice glamour shot of the backside wiring... Maybe this one just ain't no regular ho! :P

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 23 days ago

Yeah, I skipped that one cause the lower part is a bit of a mess, nothing fancy really. I tried my best though :P

TenTonnesofDoug 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

It's frankly impossible unless you start doing custom length cables for everything. I recon about 80 or 90% of the build time for mine was spent faffing around with fan and RGB cable routes. But hey, that's half the fun... isn't it!?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 23 days ago

Exactly! That part took me most of the time, especially the fans cables. Even though I had to press all the cables inside (usb hub & hue+ too) I'm still happy with the result.

TenTonnesofDoug 1 Build 1 point 23 days ago

Also, I meant to ask about the desk lighting... is this connected up to the HUE+ or is it something else entirely?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

It's just a regular rgb strip light I found on Amazon :P It's connected via usb

Alexis4232 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

Your picture are absolutely amazing +1 bro!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 23 days ago

Thank you! *sis :D

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 23 days ago

Everything I was going to say has already been said in other comments. Very impressive, very clean. +1

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 23 days ago

Thank you mate!

rogdog56 2 points 23 days ago

Dank

Air_Wizardo 3 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

Cleanness is underrated. Superb work!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

Too kind my friend :)

Mahvimcoo 2 points 22 days ago

Gorgeous and Functional. Well done!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

But most importantly: compact :D

JakeSquare 2 points 22 days ago

It's legendary me mate! I also love NZXT cases!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

Oh yeah. Gorgeous and clean design!

LRK007 2 points 22 days ago

build looks absolutely amazing, but i would recommend upgrading your gpu, i also had a gtx 1050 and i upgraded to a 1060 and it was night and day difference.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

I agree. For now I'm okay for what I usually play. I think I'll wait for the next generation as I mentioned in the description :P Hopefully prices will be decent at that point?

HTownHeff 3 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

Beautiful system. Love the lighting and how clean it is. Well done!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

Thank you darling!

jsoutherland89 4 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

Clean as they come. Congrats on the feature!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

Thanks! :D

neiler0847 2 points 22 days ago

Beautiful! And I wish my computer area could be so tidy.

Gooberdad 8 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

Good looking build.

Thumbs up and congrats on the featured spot.

Colin10101 2 points 19 days ago

Nice build

Jumpest 2 Builds 2 points 7 days ago

Is the GPU being so close to the PSU shroud an issue for you? Like elevated temps or similar problems of the like?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 7 days ago

No problem whatsoever! This pc runs super cold.

Jumpest 2 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

Jeez that's crazy, was wary of the case cuz of that but I guess it's alright. Think I could fit a 1080 Asus Strix in there? Lol

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 6 days ago

I think it can support full size GPU's :)

HomieMcBro 2 Builds 1 point 28 days ago

Sweet build! I'm looking to move my rig into this case. Do you use the hub included with the case for your fans, lights, etc or do you use the internal USB hub you included on your part list? Just wondering what the hub that comes with the case needs to connect to on the motherboard, since my motherboard doesn't have a RGB header.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 28 days ago

Thank you mate. Well it's a bit tricky: If you want to put both the Kraken AND the Aer fans, you must purchase the NZXT usb hub. These fans came with 2 plugs, so one goes to the hub and the other in any fan header available in your motherboard (in this case, you can connect both fans in the Smart Device included in the case). Hope this helps!

liamadms 1 point 27 days ago

My friend is doing a build similar to this and I was wondering how you could fit HUE+ into this case since it is kind of big and bulky, but the h200i is a Mini ITX case. Beautiful build by the way

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 27 days ago

I put both the HUE+ and the NZXT usb hub right under the PSU shroud. Cables will stay really tight, but I didn't have much choice.

zAfirz 1 point 27 days ago

May I ask what camera you used to take these pics?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 27 days ago

I used my Canon eos 1300D :P

TarikDurak 1 point 26 days ago

Where did you place the Hue+? I imagine its quite tricky placing it considering the limited amount of space in this mini itx enclosure. Your build is making me consider going with aio cooling, but i'd feed the tubes through the opening in the white cable management bracket. Were you able to reach the smart hub in the back of the case with the nzxt aer rgb fans? or did you need an extensions to go all the way from the back of the case to the smart hub?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 26 days ago

Hello, I already replied to this question in another comment: I put the Hue+ under the PSU shroud. Yes cables are long enough to reach the smart hub

TarikDurak 2 points 26 days ago

Sorry, overlooked it ! Thanks though :) Beautiful build

JCMsergox 4 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

You can never go wrong with minimalistic.

Slingshott 1 Build 1 point 23 days ago

You should go like LinusTechTips and add actual amethyst. Anyways, nice build. !

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Lmao well that would be nice but... you get the idea :D

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 23 days ago

What are the thermals?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

28 c° average on CPU, 38 c° on GPU.

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 23 days ago

That is good.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

The GPU peaks 55-60 c° ingame, the CPU pretty much remains the same. Not bad :P

Merlac 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Yes, it looks beautiful and has great components, but I don't quite understand the featured picks on this site. There are probably 500 builds in b/w NZXT case with Kraken AIO and some leds behind the table (mine included), but what makes them stick out?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Don't ask me that. I'm pretty sure there's an algorithm behind this.

leomooga 1 point 23 days ago

Looks very nice, but you could've built something with a 1080 at that price point.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Not really. Plus I'm not interested in that.

Camranatic101 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

yo we have the same keyboard, and its awesome, agreed? :D

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

Indeed! It's really responsive. Love the build quality. It seems we have the same mouse too ahahah :D

Camranatic101 2 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

In the picture I had the Rival 100, but mines broke after about a year (partially the mouses fault partially my fault, the lmb was dying like smushed so I thought if I pulled it up it would be good but I took it all off). I have the Rival 310 now and it's really good.

Camranatic101 2 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

I have the Arctis 5 headset, I stopped using the Hyper X.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

Lmao, almost identical periphericals :P Is the Rival 310 good for multiple grips?

Camranatic101 2 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

yeah pretty good

Sixoul 1 point 23 days ago

What's that block holding the headphones on the case and what rgb lights are you using for your desk? Are they synced with the PC or do you have to manually sync them?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 23 days ago

It's the NZXT Puck :) and the rgb strip light behind the desk it's pretty much a regular usb one. You find those everywhere

Samuel_Gadient 1 point 22 days ago

One thing you should consider getting is the cablemod aio sleeving. Get it in white

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

No thanks?

crichardson26 1 Build 1 point 22 days ago

Amazing build. Looks amazing. I would say why did you pair such a beefy cooler with that cpu, but with that cooler especially, its irresistible.

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

I said: why not? Also summer is super hot where I live. I made a gift for my new CPU :P

supercala12 1 point 22 days ago

What is the thing u hanged ur headset on? i have the same exact headset and would like to do that on my pc build too

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 2 points 22 days ago

It's the NZXT Puck!

dhess34 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

I love this build. One of the most aesthetically-pleasing builds I’ve ever seen!

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

That's kind of you <3

ekwirtz19 1 point 22 days ago

"DECENT". from bubbles.

CJMyers 1 point 16 days ago

Did your camera cost more then this PC?

Ametista submitter 2 Builds 1 point 15 days ago

Honestly I don’t know how my answer would be any helpful to you, but no the 1300D is an entry level camera.

Cryptichand1 1 point 7 days ago

Awesome colors Would love to see a bigger monster though

BuildStore 1 Build 1 point 1 day ago

Clean. What desk is that, and how is the cable management? I'm thinking about using the IKEA Malm Desk, but I'd like something more simplistic, with better monitor mount support.

Right?! I'm actually quite surprised by the amount of builds having the 1080's lately? :P
