Description

This is my first ever build! I am using this build for many thing, but mostly for gaming. I have actually had this for a while without the video card and 140mm fan, a few months to be more specific. Now that i have finally finished it, I can finally upload the photos. However, there are two thing i regret doing prier to buying the parts. 1) I should have just saved up the extra money to get an Intel based system. 2) I should have, again, saved up the extra money for a better case! This case has NO cable management at all! And it only came with one fan for the front.

Even with my AMD processor, i can still game perfectly fine. But I was hoping I would be able to record gameplay for a youtube channel. With Fraps, frame rates studder a lot and are mostly a little low.

Gaming in general, is perfectly fine. I have yet to go across a game that would cause any sort or lag or low frame rates.

And if you were wondering what kind of games I play, they are games like Battlefield 3 and all those modern day graphic games.

One More Thing!! The video card I am using is specifically the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 FTW Signature 2 2Gbs. Clocked at 1072Mhz with a boost clock of 1137Mhz. They didn't have this specific video card under the list here on PCPartPicker.

According to this guy's videos, the fx 6100 should handle recording even cpu intensive games like BF3, just fine...

Nevertheless, I was looking at getting a setup very similar to yours, only with 8 gb ram and a 7850. I am now rethinking the fx 6100 now, in favor of the phenom ii x4 965. I'd get a 6300, but there are literally no motherboards available within my price range (100 dollars)that are 100% certain to support vishera out of the box.

Tip, for recording for pretty much anything, record to a separate HDD than the one you are running your OS/Game off, the frame rate hit is much much lower. Other than that, enjoy the build

AMD processor is interesting(not necessary in a bad way), I looked at that one a little bit when considering AMD. Also, If you are recording gameplay for youtube, 320GB sound a little low, don't you think?

Why a 320GB drive? Considering the OS, you've already got to be down into the 250GB range.

Also why a 6100 and a 990XA? 6300 and a 990FXA would have cost the same money, and if you spent the $30 for a CPU cooler like the EVO 212, you could overclock that thing easy.

I actually plan to upgrade most of these parts in the future. Ya lol the reason why i have that hard drive is because my neighbor gave it to me! xD completely free! I plan on getting a 1Tb Western Digital Black later. and the 2nd generation fx processors (6300) were not out at the time i bought the 6100. And when i get a better cpu cooler, im definitely overclocking this! :D just need to figure out EXACTLY how too :P

Gigabyte offers mobo drivers to let you OC it easily. Otherwise it's easy to adjust from the BIOS.

Pretty nice build! You could have gotten an i3 and a H77 board for much less, and it would have performed much better, also you could have gotten a 500gb caviar blue for $20 cheaper.
