Description

CPU: The I7-4790k is a great cpu and i was able to overclock it to a nice 4.6 GHz with a vcore of 1.28. The temperature never get above 50 degrees Celsius

CPU Cooler: This is the top rated cpu cooler, it may be a little overkill for my build. However like I said my cpu never exceeds 50 degrees C, so it must be doing its job right.

Motherboard: I went with this board because microcenter did not have the msi gaming 5. I am very happy with this board it has 8 sata connections and a sweet red glow coming from around the board.

Memory: There are cheaper memory out there but I wanted something higher than 1600, so I went with the Hyper x 1866.

SSD: I just wanted a boot drive and something that was faster than a HHD. This SSD is very fast, boots windows 10 in about 10 seconds.

HHD: Western Digital is the most trusted brand, I highly recommend their storage devices.

GPU: I have upgraded my GPU from the MSI GTX 970 to a EVGA 1070 FTW. This gpu speaks for itself and we all know it will play any game at max setting, it may even steal your girl so watch out.

Case: I wanted a nice case with a windowed panel, and this case comes with 2 fans and supports my cpu cooler.

Power Supply: 600 watts is going to be enough for this build and almost any build with a gtx 970. It hasnt failed me yet and I know people pick PSU's way higher than is required for their computer.

Is a 4790K not better than the Xeon E3 1231 V3? It has 0.5Ghz more and has hyperthreading which give it (technically) more cores. (right?).

On the other things I can quite agree with you.
