Description

This has been my first ever PC build and I am more than please with the end result.

So far it has taken every game I have thrown at it, each running full 4K, Ultra settings, Dying Light looks particularly good in 4K. The choice of case came via a recommendation on this site and I have to say it made everything so much easier, the Phanteks kit comes complete with everything and the quality is amazing, it really made it a pleasure to build.

The only component I would potentially change if I were to do it again would be the Motherboard, the Asus is a nice bit of kit but only comes with 2 x USB 2.0 headers witch is a bit problem and in this age it should support more.

I have uploaded a few partial build photos, I will upload some of the completed ones this evening.

Any reason you specifically need USB 2.0 headers?! USB 3 headers will be backwards compatible. Nice cable management though.

Yup, just like 3.1 (so long as we aren't talking about type C) is compatible with 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1, though some of the more ancient devices don't get along very well with things newer than 2.0.

Especially when you consider the case in questions only has 2 USB 2.0 headers anyways. It also has 2 USB 3.0 headers.

The motherboard supports up to 4 USB 2.0 headers and 4 USB 3.0 headers.

So really I'm pretty baffled by OP's concerns.

I needed them for a multi purpose card reader, it requires 1x usb 2.0 and 1x usb 3.0

Can't wait to see the finished pics! Nice quality parts, great cable management going on too. I think the mobo is a bit over the top but it's got every feature you could ever want! +1

Awesome build! looks dreamy. Thinking of doing something similar soon... How was the setup with and config with all the parts? Also... is it just me or is the video card a little saggy?

Dying Light at 4k maxed out I would say he's getting around 40-45 fps. I have the same card and I get around 75-80 fps on maxed on 1440p. If OP wants to play AAA titles in the future he would better off investing in another 980 ti for SLI (unless he is happy playing at 30 fps on lowered settings).

Getting 35-40 fps, but still looks lovely. The plan is to get a second 980 in the next 6 months or so
