Description

My girlfriend has never owned a computer so I wanted to build her one. I have never build one before so I figured this would be a good start before I build my $1000 gaming rig. For a very reasonable budget, I am quite happy with the speed and capabilities of this build. Simply for online browsing and Word and Excel stuff.

CPU - Micro Center all the way with this deal. For the price it was a good start.

CPU Cooler - I really didn't need this but I am happy it fits and it is very quiet. I have not run into any room issues with it and I was quite happy with the sound too.

Motherboard - I wanted to go for the Z97 Extreme 4 board but they were sold out so I went with this. Again, can't complain. BIOS interface is great to work with and the board is very well set up so be worked around on.

Memory - Great deal from Newegg. For about the same price, I went to the 2133 mhz instead of the 1600 mhz. I easy OC with the BIOS and this is running very well.

Storage - I use the Samsung SSD and I swear by it... I love the speed it offers and programming by Samsung

Case - For $35 this case was a steal. 3 very quiet and large built in fans really does a great job of keeping the board nice a cool without any problems. Spacious and very easy to work around on.

Again, very fast and simple build but it performs wonderful. It is perfect for what she needs and the extra space for future upgrades offers a great build for $500.

Hyperevo for an i3, seems a bit overkill but looks good all and all.

Honestly, I wouldn't have bought it if I knew the i3 came with a heatsink/fan! haha I will admit it stays very cool even on high performance though.

That is half the fun with the first build, making the mistakes is what helps us learn. Though I would not really call the hyper evo a mistake, more of a win better.

even though its overkill, the evo is so cheap...

Hyper evo is a very good air cooler, one of the best. It easily keeps up with the cheaper closed loop water coolers. :)
