Description

Built this computer about a year ago for gaming, was running the 7700k & Z270-E. with the release of the 9th gen CPUs and Z390s I decided to upgrade a few parts.

i7-9700K running smoothly at 5.1GHz paired with the Asus Strix z390-E motherboard and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro at 3200Mhz The 1080ti overclocked as well. running with 2050 core clock and 11404 memory clock.

both PG279Q's are running smooth at 165hz.

Very happy with how this build turned out, have had zero issues running anything on max settings.

Also your build confirms that mine is going to look great! Thanks for posting this. There are a lot of b/w builds but few that understand the balance of b/w like yours does.

great to hear! and thank you, I didn't want to have too much white, thought about painting the GPU but I'm glad I decided not too, adds a nice balance being all black

  • 1 point

Thanks. Ya I hear ya. I will be painting gpu since my case is black with white highlights. this will achieve a similar balance.

This is one incredible build! We have the same case, and... well... that is where the similarities end. lol I am loving the black and white color scheme! How are you liking your 9700k? As well as your corsair RGB fans?

  • 1 point

the black and white is clean that's for sure, I think it turned out well. and the 9700k is good so far, running smooth and cool at 5.1ghz and I love the Corsair fans, think they compliment the rest of the components well.

Prime95, Cinebench as well as various 3DMark tests. and no I currently am not,

How was the overclocking process on that 9700k? 5.1ghz is very good! Congrats on the system, great work.

took a bit of time to get it all running stable, but it was just a bit of tinkering, nothing major

Where did you get the white keys for your key board.? I am do in a very similar build. Saw your key board and new it was the final cog.

How long did it take to get your CPU? Mine still has not shipped.

I pre ordered on newegg.ca on the 8th and it was shipped the friday from New Jersey and on my doorstep in Ontario for the 23rd

this is dope but do you actually prefer corsair m&k or did you do that to match the color scheme?

  • 1 point

Thank you! And I prefer Corsair products. Never had a major issue with anything. Always held up performance wise and looks great as well.

  • 1 point

What is your temperature for your cpu because the i7 9700k is like a fire place

  • 1 point

not too sure about that because mine overclocked to 5.1GHz is running just over 60 degrees while gaming for several hours, which is what my de-lidded 7700K ran at 5GHz so really that's not bad at all.

  • 1 point

it runs over 60 degrees with the h100i pro?

  • 1 point

overclocked to 5.1 it hits 62 degrees peak with my fans running at 1250-1300RPM and H100i Pro pump at 2790RPM

How about your case fan rpm

Are you streaming and gaming? Trying to see how the 9700k does with just 8 cores. Just so hard to justify spending all the money on the 9900k.

I'm building a similar PC with the exact motherboard and ram. I just want to make sure that the ram and motherboard are compatible without any issues? The ram wasn't listed on the device support/ram compatibility sheet so I'm kinda worried.

  • 1 point

you shouldn't have an issue, mine is working just fine.

  • 1 point

Awesome thanks. And this isn’t the D-ram one or whatever? I’m probably over thinking it I just don’t wanna buy something that isn’t compatible.

Did u use the pre-aplly thermal paste for your cpu cooler

I did, used it on the last cooler I had, worked fine and was cool

Btw I’m using the new Corsair cooler which is the h100i platinum

I thought the pump only reaches 2400 rpm how do you make it 2790 rpm

  • 1 point

have the header on mobo at full power and have the extreme mode set on the pump in iCUE, and it sits at around 2790RPM

do your fans and h100i pro fans have to be the same cfm

Do you think I could use this motherboard to overclock an i7-9700k to handle an MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio?

Do you have a link to your desk? I'm looking to make a setup like this but I'm having trouble finding a good desk

Also, your monitors are 10.6 kg or 23.6 lbs each, the monitors I've chose (for cost) are 12 kg each and 26.5 lbs each, do you think that the mount you have will support more weight?
