Description

After wanting a true gaming pc for a long time, I finally was able to build one. 2015 was an absolutely horrible year with the worst event being the death of my father. 2016 has been the best year of my life so far and here I share part of the reason for that. I use this pc mainly for gaming, but I also do photo editing, video editing (eventually), transcoding, simulations, etc.

Also, the graphics card isn't the best because I'm waiting to get a good one when Pascal/Polaris come out (please hurry).

I think the Pascal series should be out in just a few months.

I also heard kidneys and livers are in high demand ;)

Hopefully. The 380X definitely isn't a bad card, but it really sucks being limited so much with it. I heard the TI tier isn't coming out until a few months after the initial release of Pascal, unfortunately.

very clean setup! I just got myself a lg 34um68 (also freesync 75hz version) for watching movies and non-fps games, and I gotta say 21:9 ratio is freaking awesome!!!

It certainly is! I almost didn't go 21:9 but I am so glad I did. I can't wait for Black Friday so one of those nice 1440p ultrawides are on sale.

I'm enjoying the glass desks. Good, solid build, +1. How silent is the STRAFE RGB?

I love how my glass desk looks, but it sucks a little to have to be so careful so I don't scratch it. Luckily I got some rubber coasters for drinks so nothing gets scratched by glasses.

I don't really have anything to compare the Strafe to because it's my first mechanical keyboard, but it really isn't loud at all. You can definitely hear the clack, but, if I remember correctly from when I was testing others out, it's much quieter than most thanks to the Cherry MX Silent keys.

Yeah, I wanna get a Corsair keyboard and I'm debating between the STRAFE and the K70

That's a hard decision. I've heard that the K70 doesn't do too well at full 16.8 million colors and works best at 512, so if very specific colors is a factor then you'll be disappointed with it. However, the K70 has media controls and has a full metal body so it has better build quality.

The STRAFE has a white backboard under the keys so the lighting is much brighter and vibrant. It also has white on the sides, but it's fully plastic. It also doesn't have the awful tramp stamp logo on it. Instead, the logo it has is on the left side and lights up as well.

They both have their pros and cons, but I went with the STRAFE because I liked having better RGB support, the white on the sides, the white backboard to make it light up brighter, and because it comes with alternate keycaps for the WASD and QWERDF which are rubberized, textured, and angular so it makes it much easier to find the keys. I have Asperger's Syndrome and so my fine motor control isn't very good, which means I tend to stray a bit when typing or going to different keys in a game. The alternate keycaps are an absolute life saver for me.

Hopefully this helps make your decision a bit easier. Let me know what you decide!

Wow, I'm glad to hear that a keyboard could help your game experience a lot. I originally bought the Razer Blackwidow but it's too loud for my taste, and I wanted to make the jump over to the RGB side, so I think I might go with the STRAFE, and it'll match with my setup. Thanks!

Sick setup! Looks awesome! Kinda funny to see that card in a such a high end pc. I just picked up the same card for 125 bucks from guy in my town. Great card but I think you should definitely update when Pascal/Polaris come out (seems to me like you have sufficient funds)

Already did! Upgraded to an EVGA 1080 FTW. Only reason I went with the 380X was to hold me over until Pascal came out.
