Description

I'm using this rig exclusively for gaming. I play games like Skyrim (Modded), Dragon Age Inquisition, NBA 2k15, The Evil Within, and lots more.. So problems so far.. gameplay is smooth and I run pc games on their max settings. I get around 70+ FPS usually.. The NOCTUA NH-D14 is epic at cooling.. GTX 970 is also a monster of a graphics card.. I'm quite happy about this build.. Next upgrade: an SSD, a Razer Deathstalker and Deathadder! Oh, I only play at 1600X900 res.. and I'm quite contented with it for now..^

+1 have you tried overclocking that chip yet?

I'm not a fan of overclocking and I admit that I'm a noob at that. I built this rig for the upcoming THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT game. And after seeing the minimum and recommended pc requirements of that game, I'm glad I made the right choices. LOL!

EDIT: Although I get 100+ FPS on COD:Modern Warfare, 90+ on TOmb Raider, 90+ on THE Evil Within... basically 70+ FPS on almost all games prior to 2015 on Ultra or max settings.. but hey, I only play at 1080p and I'm quite happy with it..^

He got the low power, low clockspeed for more money model rather than the more powerful model. Why the hell would he do that, then overclock?

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?289461-A-little-birdie-told-me&p=5237937&viewfull=1#post5237937 because that chip is a overclocking monster. ive seen 5.1 ghz stable...on air. so my question back at you, why the hell wouldn't he! and if he didn't want to overclock, he could have got a cheaper mobo, but he didn't. oh and why would he get SUCH A EXPENSIVE COOLER....ooooo idk maybe to overclock!! :)

Downvoted that before I read the article, and then forgot to un-downvote. Downvoted your other reply though, as you were being an ***.

How does the D-14 fit in this case? Does the side panel close with any room to spare? I have the 200r but want to get the Noctua D-15 but it's 5mm taller than the D-14. Do you think the D-15 wold fit, I would really appreciate it if you replied.

Hey there... Well, the D-14 fits perfectly in this case with the side panel closed.. And when I say perfectly, I mean EXACTLY.. no problem there.. I have no idea about the D-15 though.. Hope this helps.^

edit: That's what this site is for. I trust this site. If PC partpicker says the D15 will fit in a Corsair 200r case, then probably it will. Try to look for compatibilities between the case and the cpu cooler..^

If you're asking if I'm gonna overclock it or not the answer is simple: NO. 1. I'm a noob at overclocking 2. I want to prolong the life of my PC 3. PSU is low for overclocking 4. Why would I OC if all of my favorite games are playable on ULTRA? i.e. THE WITCHER 3 WILD HUNT (CYRI says so).
