Description

My new system runs great this graphics card runs every game i play at max settings 60+ fps

  • got the cpu and mobo at micro center bundled them and saved a bunch of money

-i also bought a keyboard and a camera but i am not including that into the price because its additional stuff i did not need and i already had windows from my old system as well as a 250gb samsung 840 series ssd

-temps at idle with the 212 evo are around 29-33C and at max running prime 95 for 5+ mins i get around 78c-81c and at 20% load its usually around 37C which is where it usually stays

-I use this to stream/game i also do some computer programming and the cpu has 0 problems with that i have not tried it in CAD or any type of intensive 3d rendering but i will later on and will add stuff to this.

  • i seated the cpu cooler correctly but it was slightly tilted so i redid and seated it improperly with the thermal paste so then i had to redo it two more times and now it runs well.

-everything ran perfectly fine straight out of the box however the case and cable management on the backside were a pain in the *** because u literally have like half an inch of clearance and the 24 pin is like half an inch thick so the only thing id recommend is a different case.

i also have not overclocked and dont plan to because my cpu runs at 4.4 ghz so who the hell would need to oc that to 4.7 ish maybe even higher, not worth it imo

the max temp i got on the 970 was 69C at load and when the fans really started kicking in this dropped to 63 i was really impressed by this and on idle i can get it down to 34C at times

Rule one of PC part picker, never include the word beast in you build, unless its above 2K. Even then, sometimes you'll still get downvoted to hell

Thanks for the tip! :)

Yeah, use others ones that aren't so popular. I like Avenger.

Change your build title and you will get more up votes here.

This is a sick build! The PC I am building is almost exactly the same just with more storage, a 100me edition of the MSI card, and a different case. I'm really excited to get it. Awesome build though!

No case fans? And what about OS and Optical drive?

  • 3 points

the case comes with 3 front and 1 rear fan

And they work really well

you can get a external optical drives

  • 1 point

optical drive is not a necessary component and like i said i already had windows from my laptop

yah i have 3 case fans in the front and 2 in the ceiling of the case

The h440 doesn't support an optical drive, and who still uses those unless they like to watch/burn Blu rays

Its a good build but I wouldn't considerate beast especially for the price. You could have easily squeezed in a 980 and an SSD

is it possible to have a optical drive for this case?

An external one only

  • 1 point

no, but an optical drive nowadays is not necessary and is becoming less and less useful and if you really need one you can get an external one

Nice build. How about the temps on this case? I see most of the folks are going with water cooling in this case? Heard the front air take is not so good. Are you using the stock fans? I am planning for same config and want to check teh air cooling performance

the temps are perfectly fine, cpu temps at idle are between 27-31C, at 100% load on prime95 its usually around 77 with a max of 81C and the fans in front are stock and i took the hyper 212 fan and the stock exhaust fan and put them in the ceiling of the case as exhaust. the sp120s are great because they run at low rpm and perform very well

also usually around 20-40% load the cpu temps go up to about 40-44C which is where it usually at when im streaming/gaming/watching videos etc...

the gpu never even gets hot it idles at 34-38C and never gets over 63 at load with an oc up to around 1377 mhz

i also didnt go with liquid cooling because i dont need to oc my cpu more than 15% if i had to oc and the 212 evo is super cheap as well as more chance of failure with liquid cooling and putting water near electrical components is scary

u oced ur gpu i was talking about strictly the CPU... try doing what u did without ocing your 780ti

  • 1 point

u oced from 872 to 1176 on your "GPU" so plz l2 read and stop trying to deceive people

if i wanted to i could oc my gpu up to 1500+ mhz but why bother if it is not necessary what i was saying is strictly ocing the cpu isnt going to give me too much of a performance increase

  • 1 point

and its not for free it reduces the life of your components because you add extra heat if i get to the point where im in a game and the fps becomes unplayable then ill oc my gpu

Yeah, my build was about $1400 but included all my peripherals, windows 8.1 and a ssd for my os. +1 for the case, love my blue/black h440. Nice and balanced build!

Who wants to wait around lol i had the money and i spent it.. already had a monitor, os and i use a tv as a second monitor, so yeah...

  • 1 point

also you cant determine what will happen in the future so you cant say if you wait around for sales here and there to compare at the 1200$ price you would have to show me something better right now and i doubt you could include os and monitor for 1250 atm.
