So what is the purpose of your build?

Just gaming.

is there a reason why you went with the mpower over the gaming mobo? besides OC

  • 1 point

Well mainly for the OC features for FSX which is heavily CPU dependent. It has most of what the gd 65 has for gaming plus it has Wi-Fi (minor incentive) but I really wanted the MPower max but I couldn't find one anywhere in stock for the added power phases.

Ah yea i was looking into getting that too but then i saw the xpower.

Mpower max would of been worth the wait. but either way both are good boards just a few extras on the max compared to the regular one.

good board thoe.

Yeah the xpower looked like an awsome board but then I saw the price tag. Although I looked on ncix website the other day and it was only 229.00 the same price as the mpower I was tempted to just buy it for the hell of it at that price and I still might but I would have to get a full tower.

Why are the 2 sets of ram priced differently?

How Much of a Temperature Difference do you think the H100i would have without the Artic Silver?

  • 1 point

Not really sure. I've read it can be as much as 10 degree's but I don't know what cooling system they where comparing it to. What I do know is @ 4.6ghz with the combo the highest temp during my multiple CPU stress test's under 100% load has been 71 degree's.

4.6 Ghz ? That's some horsepower you got there ... Guess using a thermal paste is reassuring when you overclock it that far

  • 1 point

Yeah the 4th gen seems to be a hit or miss type of CPU when it comes to overclocking. Mine's deffenitly not the pick of the litter but its ok. The h100 comes with paste on it but I had no idea what kind it was so I just cleaned it off and stuck mine on there and have no complaints.

Hey, if you're only gaming why did you get 16GB of RAM and an i7 over 8GB of Ram and an i5?

  • 1 point

As for the RAM just because it was fairly cheap enough I thought might aswell. I got the i7 because The main game I play is Flight Simulator X which is a highly CPU dependent game. I had a 3570k in a build I did earlier this year and it ran FSX pretty good but not maxed out so I figured I'd give this a try.

How do you like the keyboard?

  • 1 point

I love it.

  • 1 point

Have you ever owned a mechanical keyboard. Does it feel similar to a mechanical keyboard.

  • 1 point

I haven't I was strongly considering one of the corsair keyboards which are mechanical but I perfer the lower profile keys not the big chunky ones. I don't know how to really describe how it is but it has very quick input and it's very comfortable to use

Your going to be having only 256GB of space for a month? You should have at least gotten a 1TB HDD.

  • 2 points

Yeah I'll get more down the line when I need it. Honestly I just built it to play a few games.

You probably don't need 16 GB of RAM. But apart from that, good looking build!

  • 1 point

Yeah your probably right but it so cheap might aswell and thanks
