Description

I decided to build a PC about 6 months ago, obviously not a buyers market. Either way, I enjoyed the process and and very excited that I got a successful boot on my first try. I am going to use this build mostly for gaming and school work, currently a college student. I understand that this build needs some work with cable management and overall looks. That will come with time and I will learn to get better at it! Thank you all for taking a look at V1!

WILL ADD PICTURES SOON! ALL COMMENTS WELCOME, ESPECIALLY TIPS! FIRST BUILD!

Part Reviews

CPU

So far, this CPU has been great for my needs. I got lucky and found it on sale for a little cheaper than the 1600, so thought might as well go for the 1600x! I got lucky and got a stable OC to 4.0! my voltage is at 1.4 and cinebench score is constantly at 1400. Great price to performance CPU!

CPU Cooler

I had originally used a Cooler Master MasterAir MA410P but it was not performing as I had expected so I returned it and went with this one! This cooler keeps my CPU on average around 33 C. Looks great and goes well with my build!

Motherboard

Honestly speaking, I wanted to go with the ASUS ROG STRIX B350 but prices were way to high. Overall this is a great motherboard for the price, which even includes a USB type C! Some of the headers could have been better placed, but other than that no complaints.

Memory

This RAM kit looks great for the build, I love the all black with white LED's. I got it OC to 2933mhz, which is great for a Ryzen CPU. Love this kit!

Storage

No complaints here, fast storage at a reasonable price.

Storage

Another part that I have no complaints about, does its job well.

Video Card

Got this part from a miner whose wife bought him the wrong part! got it for a decent price, especially given the current market. Runs very well and the fans only come on when needed! Also looks great in my build!

Case

This case is beautiful! has space for a 280mm radiator if I ever want to upgrade, and has space for a full size GPU. It also comes with Velcro straps in the back of the case for cable management and tons of space to hide them. The only issue is installing the fans in the bottom portion of the front of the case. Two different shrouds need to be removed in order to avoid breaking things, which is a hassle. But other than that, great case!

Power Supply

No complaints, great psu for a great price. Semi modular which is a plus, and is very quiet. Also is more than enough for what I need!

Case Fan

Beautiful colors! Only complain is the noise, they are quite loud!

Monitor

The color saturation and overall quality is great for a budget monitor. The screen tearing is very evident, even in games that are very well optimized. Other than that, great monitor.

Keyboard

Love the red underglow, and the MX switches. Also am glad it comes with a dedicated windows shut off key for gaming! Only complaint is the wrist rest. Feels slippery and cheap. Still 5 stars!

Mouse

Have had this mouse for two years, great for gaming and normal use!

Nice pick with your cpu and gpu :) They should keep you going for a long time.

1.4v @ 4GHz on a 1600X is ... okay. I would see if you can squeak it a bit lower or set an offset voltage. +1 :)

why is you ssd like this? I ask as I am building in this case and was thinking on using that ssd mount

jleonardi submitter 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

The shroud that the ssd would normally mount on, directly to the right of the gpu, would not work. My sata cable for the ssd id a 90 degree cable and for it to fit on the shroud, it would have to have been straight! In the future when I get my cable mods, I will put the ssd where it belongs!
