Description

Following the somewhat cliche but stylish black and red color scheme.

I am a 'Gamer' and this rig can play games and do email at a push. I have tinkered with computers before but this my first real PC so don't be a meaner !

The 6600k performs well, there was a brief period of time where she sat on 4.8GHZ however I found it to be a tad unstable thus she remains at a hungry yet agreeable 4.6GHZ. There is no problem with gaming performance on the CPU's end and it continues to provide stellar performance. My 8 gigs of ram get the job done however I will most likely upgrade to a 16 gig configuration in the foreseeable future.

The GTX 970 is great performer however it lets me down on the OC side of thing as I am unable to push anymore MHZ no matter how hard I try. Aside from the overclocking potential (I think its my own bad luck) this card is kick *** and nearly maxes out every game I play at 1080p with GTA V staying at a solid 60fps on ultra. Despite this cards killer performance I plan to upgrade to a GTX 1060 in the near future.

The MOBO is surprisingly good for its price and tier with solid OC support and USB Type-C and USB 3.1.

The Case looks like a ****** bat mobile ... enough said.

GAH! MAINSTREAM COLORS!.... Kidding, red and black aren't too bad. The first build I made was red and black too but mainly because that's one of the easiest ways out. So many components are either red or black. I could have done blue or black also but I already bought a Red CM Devastator Keyboard + Mouse.

I've since started spray painting my own components because I'm bored with what companies have to offer.

I love your build, just one question, did you have to mess with the voltage to get to 4.6ghz on your cpu? If so what's it at?

Yeah, the core voltage is at 1.32v :D

NZXT has been killing it for the last 5 years on case designs..

Great build man..

+1 for a great parts list, nice overclock, and clean build.

NIce build. From the reviews I have read you won't get too much better performance from the 1060. I would look at some of the reviews before buying.

build looks superb bud, im also doing a 6600k build, I notice your Cooler Master Hyper 212X 82.9 CFM has a fan in the back and front, when purchasing from stores it only includes one fan... are we able to change the fan that comes with it as well as add another fan to the back of it as you did in your build ?

My first build, thus the novice question...

The Hyper 212x includes its default fan and two sets of brackets. The only problem I encountered was the second pair of brackets had little nobs on them to prevent you from using different branded fans. I just sanded them off and put on my corsair fans :D

Yeah I have the same case in my build and people don't even look at my computer, they just ask where I got the batmobile at

Thanks bud, appreciate the feedback,

Once again , your build and color theme is wicked and those corsair fans really pick it up lol.

Hey, so the fan comes with a extra set of brackets which are fine but the first set that came attached to the stock fan have little notchs on them so they only fit on that particular fan. I sanded/cut them off and then had no issues. Good Luck and sorry about late response
