Description

Easily overclocked my 7700k to a stable 5.0 ghz with 1.31v. averages around 60c under full load. I built this PC to maximize my FPS in CS:GO. On Ulletical's Workshop Benchmark map I would scored 450 fps on native res with mostly low settings.

Nice build but isn't it better to but the graphics card in the top slot

It really depends on the motherboard, some boards have a limited number of PCIe x16 slots and if you put your card in a x4 slot you can see reduced performance. This particular motherboard has both of it's full size PCIe slots as x16 so it shouldn't matter which is used.

what made you choose to put such a nice looking graphics card out of the way in the bottom slot anyways?

It's possible that the Asus soundcard was obstructing the fans on the 1080. Considering the current price on that soundcard is more than the going rate for a used 1080 I think you can see where the builder's priorities are.

It also looks in the pictures like the reservoir and hose could interfere with placing the GPU in the top slot.
