This is the first PC I have ever built for myself (Have built a few for other people before) and my current one was really starting to age so I decided to take the plunge and do everything I have wanted to do with a build which was within my budget.

Initial building was not a problem and I had the system up and running fairly quickly once all the essentials finally arrived, watercooling was more complicated as it was my first time dabbling in it, had some issues with the tubing kinking but fixed that with more connectors.... overall a good learning experience and a nice result.

I am pretty satisfied with it, I can play all my games at max settings and can do rendering dirt fast, I won't deny that the tubing could look better, but that is something I will probably fix when I add my second GPU, more hard drives, LED lights, new monitor.... you get the idea.

I ain't really had time to play around with overclocking but the motherboard auto overclocked the CPU to 4.5 GHz and I have run the GPU at 1100 MHz but it really didn't make much of a difference in 3DMark so I just left the GPU at stock... my temps usually around low 30s no matter what I seem to be doing.

Anyway enough of me rambling on, hope you like what you see, and feel free to check my flickr for even more photos.

By, "decided to take the plunge and do everything I have wanted to do with a build which was within my budget" did you mean "buy all of the top of the line components regardless of budget"?

seriuzbuzinez submitter 1 Build 2 points 44 months ago

Haha I would have upgraded more if I had the money!!

SomeBlueGuy 1 Build -10 points 44 months ago

They aren't that "top of the line".

actechy 7 Builds 4 points 44 months ago

they're pretty much top of the line.

jaredt 1 Build 2 points 44 months ago

If your definition of top of the line only includes quad titan blacks on a dual xeon motherboard then its not top of the line. But for anyone else's definition, its a absolute beast.

You might want to check your voltages if you use your mobo's auto-overclock. They tend to overvolt your CPU like crazy

Edit: I just saw the CPU-Z pic. 1.408v is a bit high to me, but if you're fine with it, then good for you. Great build!

Thanks I will look in to this more when I have some time, overclocking is all new to me.

I agree with Cooperred, I was just looking around at builds with the 4930k and came across yours. Saw the CPU-Z with 4.5 @ 1.4volts I was like holy....

ImElkay 1 Build 2 points 44 months ago

Wait? Do I see watercooled chipset/mosfets?????

seriuzbuzinez submitter 1 Build 1 point 44 months ago

Yes the chipset and mosfets have a water block on them, It was a last minute decision but glad I did it.

ImElkay 1 Build 1 point 44 months ago

That is awesome. Do you see a lot of performance difference?

Dustworks 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago
