*RAM is from old computer :)
great build +1
the ram is actually fine its just not perhaps as aesthetically pleasing as the ones with the heatsinks on it and if your not overclocking them its no biggy but who cares really, mine are the same in my build, but I have 16gb taken from my old build, so same story there
Thanks, and yeah, I'll likely switch them out when something nice goes on sale
totally, I'm waiting for the same thing, however, I fear we might be waiting for a while, RAM prices are pretty horrific these days haha :)
Just put some Artic RC RAM coolers on make them look more ascetically pleasing.
Damn, those look nice!
I actually dont like the look of those BUT thank you for the info, I always appreciate helpful members like yourself offering great alternatives! so thanks anyways :)
man those are tall, lol
No worries, having them in my build managed to get some value ram cheap. Just waiting on the damn NZXT H440 to be released in the UK !
Nice build, that GPU is huge.
Comparison against my old GTX 560
Haha yep, no delays and hindrances to productivity ;)
Nicely done, +1
Why did you choose that ram? Just curious..
It was out of my old computer, figured it was good enough for now
Ah I see :p that makes sense and hey it works so you kinda can't complain :p I was only asking due to aesthetics..
You know, I kinda thought the same thing, but it doesn't look all that bad in the pics. +1 btw I used the same case in my build
Low profile can be nice :) and thanks
Why the 280x over the 770?
This was built when the 280x just came out so it was $349 vs the $400+ 770
Ok. Good thing you bought it then and not now during the age of bitcoin inflation. :P
Yeah its $599 now on Newegg, I'm glad I went with it when I did, at the time being a cheaper (newer) 7970, its just a beast
Good build, if you plan on getting more RAM go with higher freq (1800 - 2400) because haswell works better with higher freq instead of latency like ivy or sandy.
Alrighty, likely will, soon I'll get into overclocking so it will certainly help with performance
Did you include the picture of the Asus laptop to show the different badges with the third and fourth generation processors?
Nah I just wanted to show my laptop too :) it has an i7 3630QM which isn't too far off
Dat battery life though..............................................................................................................
Ehh you have enough room to Crossfire... :P
I actually though about that, would have to fold down all the front panel connectors, but yeah it'd fit... wouldn't be any room for any airflow at all but it'd fit XD
How well is the monitor?
The ram is just what I had left from my other computer, it'll be swapped out eventually. I actually put it together in September, and the R9 has been very nice to me so far, I overclocked it from 1070 to 1150 (6400 mem) on stock voltage.. I push it pretty hard at times and it usually peaks around the 70 degree mark. The heat sink is a nice bonus because under load the GPU is virtually silent (unlike the Toxic 280x). And yes I do enjoy it very much as even the some of the most demanding tasks seem not to be too hard for it to handle, and thank you very much :)
