Description

This is my first build I am going to primarily use it for video editing/Gaming. I spent a lot of time finalizing the parts, and ended up ordering it on the fateful morning of November 19th, 2013. I was going to get the Rosewill Blackhawk, but last minute I realized they would not ship it Hawaii so I chose the R4.

I am 14 and decided that should do this for my freshman independent project. It was a lot of fun. I had a great experience and I plan on doing it again!

Now to explain myself:

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core: It was rippin' deal! And for what I am using it for all I will ever need and more.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO: I have heard alot of good things about it and it is 30 bucks! If all those people were wrong I wouldn't be out that much.

Thermal Paste: It's thermal paste.

ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0: It has all the ports I need and has room for upgrades!

Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600: It is fast enough for what I need. And matches my color scheme.

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM: It is 7200RPM, 6GB/s, A Terabyte, and $0.06 per Gigabyte.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB: This also had to be changed last minute. It has all I need and more for light video editing and gaming.

Fractal Design Define R4: I LOVE THIS CASE! Grommets, Sleek Design, Tie down points galore, Solid construction, Silence. I love this case!

Thermaltake 550W ATX12V: 80+ Bronze, Enough Watts for upgrades, 5 year warranty.

Optical Drive: For my operating system not much else.

Windows 8: Personal preference. I like it. Works great for gaming and video editing.

Samsung T24C550ND 23.6": Got it before build. it is a great monitor. only con is that it doesn't come with any cords so you have to go out and get some to use it.

UPDATE! I overclocked my processor to 4.0 GHz as recommended by SpadeFire91.

Looks great! You should go ahead and overclock that 6300 since you have some awesome airflow going on. 4.0GHz is perfect to overclock without Prime95 errors.
