This build began way back in January late one night while i was surfing performance pc's website, an expensive thing to do, and before I knew it I had 3 HWlabs 360 GTX radiators on the way. Now since radiators aren't much good just sitting in a box a new build was in order and thus Project: Greyscale was born. I have built a few systems but never one with hardline tubing or sli graphics cards, so I decided to go all out and do both plus dual loops all housed inside the awesome CaseLabs S8. When ordering from CaseLabs it pays not to be in a rush so while I waited the 3 months for my case to arrive I slowly acquired the parts I would need. Since I was doing dual loops I decided it would be cool to have the loops in reverse color scheme the GPU loop has black sparkle/ grey fittings with Mayhems pastel white, and the CPU loop has white fittings with Mayhems pastel white that I dyed to make grey. I also painted the radiators and reservoirs to match. Overall the build went very well, and the only problem I had was in the beginning I wanted to use a 150 ml res but i ran into clearance issues. Machine will be used primarily for 4k 60hz and 1440p 144hz gaming.

Part Reviews

Great CPU does 4.0ghz on stock voltage almost twice the cinebench score than my previous CPU (6700k) with no appreciable difference in gaming performance for what I play.

Good MOBO with lots of features especially if your watercooling. Board has pump headers, flow headers, and the fan headers that can provide 12W of power each. some early ones were bricking but I guess I got a good one.

Lightning fast storage however if your not moving lots of data constantly its not really worth the extra expense over a nice SATA ssd, day to day operations and boot time feels the same vs an 850 pro. Took one star off for price.

Great storage for all my games and programs at an affordable price. I bought this before the NAND shortage drove up prices.

Mass storage for all my music and movies its an HDD what can I say.

Video Card

Eats pixels for breakfast, with a pair of these I can play any game max settings at 4k 60. Plays my heavily modded Witcher 3 at 5k 60, Shadow Warrior 2 at 6k 60 and lots of older games at 6k+ resolution.

Power Supply

The most stable 1000w on the market.

Case Fan

Super quiet fans I have 18 in 1 system and can barely hear them just as quiet as noctuas without the ugly colors. They also have a removable fan cable in two separate lengths making cable management easy.

Fan Controller

a Whopping 60w per channel, you could probably power 3 computers fans its so powerful.

So nice to see someone take a break from the generic red/black or blue/black coloring schemes. This thing is nerd ****.

Pic 1 is as Murica as it gets! Is there anyone who can photoshop bald eagles, fireworks and the founding fathers with it???

Beautiful...I really like how you used Watercool (Heatkiller) parts instead of the same old EK parts you see in 9 out of 10 builds...In my opinion the current Heatkiller blocks are the BEST looking on the market, and the Heatkiller Tube reservoir's are the best looking on the market too...And, I absolutely love the monochromatic theme....

Nice to see CaseLabs being used and not ThermalFake. They, CaseLabs, make quality cases. +1

I need to hand in my Man-Card... I just swooned onto a fainting couch due to lack of oxygen when my jaw hit the floor over your GPU Temps under load fully overclocked.

There can be no words to describe that little piece of Hardware Heaven...

Still no regrets for the loss of the Man-Card.

Yah I wish I would have seen that before. Might still order it and see if I can make it fit without having to take anything apart. I agree on the usb 3 location I almost just left it disconnected.
