Description

This is my budget build that I built a month ago mainly for programming and light rendering. The build went without hitch and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'm waiting for Polaris and Pascal to be released to get a discrete graphics card, but, for now the integrated HD 530 graphics on the cpu are doing fine for light gaming since I'm using a pretty low res monitor.

I too, am awaiting the release of Polaris and Pascal, but all there is to do is wait......

This is a great build for productivity, and coming in at under $500 and including and i5, that is pretty noice m8! +1

Nice budget build.+1 I wouldn't wait. If I don't purchase a gpu when I build I am very disappointed with the the creation. At least get a good cheap used video card until you find what you really want. Don't suffer.

Thanks, I am looking around for used graphics cards, but like I said, I have a pretty low resolution monitor so I might want to upgrade that before my gpu.

Ahh. I understand. I just hate when a gpu maker says "...To be available this summer!" Then it comes out a year later.

Yeah, as with anything in the tech industry!

How hard did you push the CPU when measuring temperature? I find it hard to believe the stock cooler is that capable.

How would you rate the A Data SSD? It's cheap but I'd like to know how reliable it is.

Oh yeah... +1

When I measured my cpus load temp, it had been running at 100% for almost 10 mins, so it's not like I had been stressing testing it for hours and it definitely would have rose had I done it for longer, but it was sitting at 46 C for the past minute or two.

And there isn't much to say about the ssd. It is extremely cheap, that's the main reason I got it. And it's my first pc with an ssd, i mean it does circles around a hard drive but it isn't anything special. I haven't had any data reliability issues with it and I can't really make a solid assessment, but I can say that in isolated tests it seems to do good, but in real world performance ... well you get what you pay for!

I'm not sure asking a random person who just bought an ssd is going to give youv anything about reliability...

Nice productivity build! That thing should be a beast when you get a graphics card.

Thanks. It was a blast to research and build!
