Description

I wanted to build a PC. Whats more, I wanted to build a Kaby Lake PC. So I set of choosing parts. The computer needed to be budget, and ready to upgrade in the future, as I wasn't planning on any intense gaming, I was able to sacrifice a graphics card for a better proccesor. I spent a while thinking about parts for this build and how I could get the best bang for my buck. The name cardless comes from there being no GPU yet.

The computer has worked fine, runs light games, and will game even better when I get a 1060, as I plan too in a few months time. There were few issues building the computer, and I am relatively happy with the quality, and asthetics of the build.

All in all, this build has been successful, it was my first build, and does what I want it too.

Part Reviews

CPU

Works fine, awesome budget i5 proccesor

Motherboard

I am happy with this motherboard, easy to use, and looks awesome

Memory

Don't like asthetics.... But RAM is RAM

Storage

Awesome for keeping up speeds, but could have gotten something faster.

Storage

Works fine, is trustworthy and is cheap.

Case

I didnt like cable management, but the case looks nice.

Power Supply

Don't like the cables, but worked ok for me.

Ram is not always only ram, this pc can take advantage of 2 things: 2400 clock speed and dual channel. If you're going to add a discrete GPU forget about my remark on dual channel. overall, great kaby!

Why not wait for ryzen ? Performance and value

ajpinton 11 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

IMO at least we have waited too long for AM4, we have been teased that it is just around the corner for almost 2 years now. There is no telling when it will actually release it.

That and I will never pronounce Ryzen they way they want us too.

because he doesnt have $500 to spend on a cpu alone.

Ryzen is going to be a whole family of CPUs

Very nice for your first build, stayed budget friendly and managed to build a very decent rig with some options to upgrade. +1

Great cable management for your first build. I plan on upgrading my rig (from an old amd build) with that motherboard and I'm thankful I can see it in an actual build.

Tabbott submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

Thanks. I really love the motherboard.

Great budget system! Only thing I can advise you on is a RAM upgrade to something that's got a clock speed of 2400. (http://bit.ly/2jaxSbe). +1
